  • Walking, cycling and birdwatching at Stover Country Park
  • Outdoor heated pool and two fishing lakes
Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is a quiet family-friendly park set on a working farm around 10 minutes' drive from the historic market town of Newton Abbot. It's within walking distance of the Templer Way heritage trail and a huge country park, as well as a flat and family-friendly cycling trail through woodlands and around lakes to Dartmoor National Park. The outdoor pool is always warm as it's heated by the site's biomass heating system, and there's a fishing lake within walking distance of all pitches. The site also has a small play area to keep the kids entertained. The dishwashing and laundry facilities are housed within the award-winning heated toilet and shower block. Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is easily accessible from the main roads that run either side of Newton Abbot, making the park well placed for shopping trips and evenings out to Torbay, Exeter and Plymouth.

Liked Friendly run campsite with a heated pool that our younger son loved! Really clean toilets and shower facilities. Big room to clean your dishes, always space, never had to queue even though the campsite was busy. Great pitch, amazing view. Great location and being on a working farm, not that you would know, there were chickens and a sheep for the kids to see.

Liked We liked where our pitch was located as it was close to the amenities and facilities. The heated pool was a bonus which the kids liked. The showers in the ladies was cold but was warm on the last day of our stay - assuming something was fixed.

Disliked Shop closed a little to early and washing machine could have been used with card payment rather than coins to make it easier. Although WiFi was free for an hour, it dropped many times during the hour which resulted in no access to the wireless

Liked Really nice site. We were camping and the pitch was just right. Facilities were good and the food offering was very good too - we had their Sunday roast which was really nice.

Disliked Not much. The music in the ablutions was not always to my taste but that is just me!

Liked We came as a big family with 10 of us we all had an amazing time the site was very well looked after and clean all the staff were very friendly. The food hut on site is amazing the food is great quality and very well priced. The kids had hours of fun in the pool and made plenty of friends to play with in the evening from football to hide and seek. The shower room and toilets are also clean and well kept. We had plenty of space.

Disliked Nothing to dislike great place for family's

Local attractions

The site's fishing lake is well stocked with carp – just ask for Jim and he'll tell you all their names... Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park also lies halfway along the Templer Way Heritage Trail, a walking route that uses a mixture of rights of way, permissive routes and minor roads to link the seaside town of Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor. The Stover Canal, which was once used to transport granite from the moors to the harbour, is also a short stroll from the park. The woodland, grassland, heathland, marsh and lake areas of the 114-acre Stover Country Park, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is half an hour's walk away. The park has a visitor centre, an aerial walkway, a bird hide and picnic areas. Also running through the country park is the Stover Trail – a traffic-free cycling route that connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey, extending towards Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park.
