Pitches for family and group bookings
Spacious electric pitches with parking by the tent

  • Quiet family-friendly Devon campsite 10 minutes’ drive from Woolacombe
  • Exmoor National Park 15 minutes’ drive and the Tarka Trail 20 minutes
  • Dog-walking area; easy access to footpaths, a pub and public transport
Surfers, walkers and cyclists listen up… staying at Little Shelfin Farm Camping puts you in pole position for the breaks off Woolacombe Beach (10 minutes’ drive), long-distance hiking on the Tarka Trail (20 minutes) and a mere 15 minutes by car from the cycling routes in Exmoor National Park. There’s plenty more that’s good about this small and quiet family-run campsite. Set on an 80-acre working farm, the spacious pitches have plenty of room between them, with room for awnings and cars, and are on a large field with wide-open spaces so kids can have a run around. Dogs are welcomed here as well, and there’s a small run dedicated to canine exercise (please pick up after them though). You have direct access to several public footpaths from the camping field (the dogs will be pleased to get extra walkies), and there’s a bus to Woolacombe within 10 minutes’ stroll. A pub serving pizzas, steaks and fries all day is about the same distance away at Mullacott.

Liked: Very basic site. Did the job. Hot water, which is important!

Disliked: The washing up area needs a cover for when it's raining and maybe another sink as there was always a queue.
The toilets and showers are basic and clean but could do with a bit of TLC.

Liked: Fantastic campsite, nice and flat, made up of two big open fields - great for both tents and vans. Our pitch number was given to us before arrival.

The showers were nice and hot and the washing up facilities were great.

The site was within walking distance to a bus stop which connected to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.

The campsite owners were incredibly helpful when we contacted them about an enquiry. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Disliked: No hand drying facilities in the toilets
Can hear the noise of traffic on the road nearby throughout the night

Liked: Location and access from the main road was great (no narrow country lanes).
Perfect for Ilfracombe and Woolacombe and an InstaVolt fast car charger was 6 miles away in Braunton.
Nice site with pitches along the two sides only giving plenty of space for the children to play.
Very respectful campers with no noise at all after 10pm and this was August!
Showers and toilets were good although pressure was affected when more than one shower was in use. More hooks would have been useful.
Fortunately we were allocated a corner pitch at the end of the row which was perfect for us having SEN children.
Water point on pitch was very handy.
Non electric field was brilliant for going into for games and dog play!
Owners left us to it although for a five night stay I thought I would have met them at least once.
Very good price because they don’t charge per child or per dog or per gazebo :)
Three toilets and three showers for ladies - one toilet was very big with its own sink which was perfect for us as my autistic daughter won’t go in alone.
A family we met there left their camper on site and got the bus everywhere so that’s good for those who don’t want to move their van every day!
Large pub outside site, didn’t go in but handy for holiday makers.
Lidl just 3 miles away, Tesco 6 miles.
National Trust Arlington Court carriage museum 11 miles away and well visiting!
Braunton Burrows 8 miles away with amazing walks and sand dunes from the Sandy Lane car park (£2.50 all day with cafe). If you don’t mind walking you can get to Saunton Sands beach.
Woolacombe beach was amazing but car park was £12 for the day (accepts card). Good beach shops and takeaway options. Dogs allowed on beach (designated part), life guards on duty too.
Very good e-mail communication prior to and during our stay.
Had a lovely time and will definitely return.

Disliked: Turning out of the site had very poor visibility and was onto a fast road - a mirror in the hedge opposite would have been good.
I would have liked to meet the owners at some point - my husband saw them cleaning the toilets each day but I must have missed them.
The field doesn’t have any views which is something I like when sitting outside chilling but that wouldn’t stop me returning!
Push button showers but I bought the gadget off Amazon that holds the button in.
Nothing to dry hands on.

Liked: The space between pitches was excellent. You had plenty of room for yourselves and gaps between parties. The dog field was great.
