  • Award-winning park in a wooded valley and wildlife haven
  • Within 15 minutes' drive of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay
  • Play parks overlooking gardens and lake
If life’s little stresses are getting you down, flee and hide away in this award-winning park in a Devon wooded valley. From your doorstep at Hidden Valley Park all the highlights of north Devon are within easy reach: the famed beaches of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are no more than 15 minutes' drive away, and family days out at The Big Sheep are about half an hour from the site. But this pretty place is so secluded you'll feel like the world outside doesn’t even exist (which is always a win…). There's no need to leave the grounds until you're fully perked up, with plenty of peaceful options including wandering along the stream running through the park, lazing about the lakeside area, or taking a woodland walk to spot kingfishers and otters. Take a tramp through the forest then come back to relax around the gardens and lake – there’s wifi access too so you can load up your phone/tablet and studiously avoid catching up on work. Which is also a win… Kids and dogs can hide away too, as there are two play parks for the youngsters and the park is dog-friendly. Amenities include luxury shower and toilet blocks with hairdryers and underfloor heating, full disabled facilities, a reception with tourist information, a licensed shop and a launderette. Once it’s time to venture off site, a bus stop is just outside the entrance to the park.

What customers say

Great campsite in a lovely woodland setting with a stream. Staff are super friendly & helpful, pitches are spacious & clean, and facilities are top-notch (especially the underfloor heating in the showers!). Great base for exploring. Just a heads-up about some road noise, Wi-Fi costs, and playground upkeep.

Power optional gravel caravan site (small)

Liked Lovely site, friendly staff,
Showers and toilets were clean
Food and drinks on site was spot on too.

Disliked You can hear the traffic on the road. But I'm sure it will be quieter once the leaves are back on the trees.

Power optional concrete slab caravan site (premium)

Liked What a lovely camp. Met at reception who talked you through your pitch. Loaded up an electric card. Pitches lovely and wide with hedges for privacy. A good walk around the site to keep the dog quiet.
There is a club house on site reasonably priced. We had lunch there which was nice.
Facilities were clean and tidy and clean regularly by site staff.
Easy driving access to some great places.

Power optional gravel caravan site (small)

Liked Excellent communication with the site. I had to delay my arrival due to motorhome battery problems. The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. She was also the person with whom I spoke with upon arrival and departure. (☹️) I failed to ask her name. She is a lovely Welsh young person.
The site is very easy to find. Easy access to my designated pitch.
Lovely shower/toilet area. The underfloor heating was much appreciated!
The site is large. I walked around it. Ideal for dogs .. although; understandably; they need to be kept on the lead.
I hadn't; previously; used metered electricity. Purchase of the card and using it was easy. The electricity tariff is very fair.
The remaining credit that I had on the card when I departed was quickly reimbursed to my account.
It was good to have water available at the pitch.
I wasn't able to use the TV aerial facility .. but that was probably down to myself .. not the site!!

Disliked What's there not to dislike?!!

Power optional concrete slab caravan site (premium)

Liked This is not our first visit, this time we stayed off season, but the staff were just as welcoming and helpful. The toilets and showers were spotless. They were undertaking maintenance on the bridge but kept noise to a minimum and it’s good to see ongoing uokeep. Pitches are a good size and the picnic bench is a welcome addition. All the services were individual to the pitch. Will be back again.

Disliked WiFi is not great, but phone signal was good enough to run streaming on tv

Power optional gravel caravan site (large)

Liked Lovely woody campsite, well maintained pitches, lots of dog poo bins and dog walking area. Very dog friendly. Clean facilities. Staff friendly and welcoming. Great location and easily reached.

Disliked Shame it is so close to the road, so there was a biting road noise.

Very clean……oh and the staff they were great too!

Disliked The WiFi, we paid £7.50 and it didn’t even work! We called the number given and the chap said he would try a couple of things, that was the last we heard, it never worked and they might as well just taken the money.
The road was noisy but it wouldn’t put us off.

Power optional gravel caravan site (small)

Liked Great friendly communication. Hot showers in a warm clean shower block was amazing. We were using the site for a couple of nights walking the SWCP which was perfect as we completed from Instow to Woolacombe. Have recommended to family as a great location to explore the area as on a bus route that runs regularly. Dogs very welcome but ours didn't get to explore the site as too busy enjoying the beaches and the Tarka trail

Power optional gravel caravan site (small)

Liked This site is just wonderful! Location is fabulous, just off the road but feels like you are far away despite the occasional car going past. All you can hear is birds here and the woodland is just beautiful.

We had a brilliant all weather pitch which is gravel - such a good size! Electric is a top up card but this was easy to use and got a refund for any credit not used.

Plenty of walks on site and so close to other towns via the bus! We did a lovely loop of the site and it was lovely.

Toilets were absolutely spotless, warm, so clean and tidy, outlets for your straighteners etc, even a hairdryer for after a shower.

Can't recommend this site enough, the lady checking us in was so sweet and friendly exactly what you want when you turn up!

We will definitely be back soon, thank you hidden valley 😊

Local attractions

Hidden Valley is four miles from two of Devon’s best-known beaches, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, five miles from the surfing mecca of Croyde Bay and six from a family day out at the beach of Saunton Sands. The areas around all these are well worth a look, but the Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a must for bucketloads of boat trips such as punts out to nearby Lundy Island, the seafront with the Landmark Theatre, and St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, where a light has shone over the harbour for over a thousand years. Bring a torch for a walk to the Ilfracombe Museum and Tunnels beach, reached by tunnels through the cliff. Many family attractions close by for all weathers, including Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes' drive) and The Big Sheep (30 minutes), while sprogs will probably also like spotting ponies in the Exmoor wilderness, getting creeped out in the dungeon labyrinths of Watermouth Castle (20 minutes) or taking to the skies in the rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park, 45 minutes away at Bideford.
