Camping pod

Liked: We went to 1 have out frist family holiday with our toddler and 2 to celebrate my 30th, had an absolute fabulous time. Loved every minutes, we stayed in a Pod which are so lovely 😍, toilets and showers were clean. The swimming pool was great fun. The restaurant is so beautiful and really enjoyed the food we had. We have just booked to go back un October this time in one of their caravans for 7nights which will be fantastic!. I also loved so much that upon checking out we received Forget me Not seeds aww this absolutely made my day I love that you do this. Something so simple yet to me was perfect. Thank you for our short stay looking forward to October.

Liked: Park is amazing with great facilities. Pool, shop and restaurant are stunning not a mark anywhere! Please keep them this tidy and you'll have a fab park we will return too.... lovely to have access to these too, my daughter loved it! Food/ drinks are reasonably priced and a great selection in both restaurant and shop. All staff very friendly, Debbie on reception is ace! Loved the location & views too, poor signal (Phone/ TV) but does have wifi in communal area's. To be honest, we loved not being able to use our phones so we could have quality family time :D

Disliked: We stayed in touring area, this felt a bit unloved compared to the rest of park... Maybe this is next on the list to refresh? Ground not as finished as other parts of park, Hookups falling over, water taps not working. Quite a bit of walking involved to get to water tap, shower/ toilet block and waste disposal - Not a deal breaker but not ideal at night/ bad weather or for those who may have poorer mobility.

Camping pod

Liked: Great little pod to stay in, spacious and clean. Swimming pool was lovely, big and clean - small pool perfect for younger children and warm too.

Disliked: The communal facilities could be better, they were clean but only 3 showers. The menu could do with some veg instead of chips with everything.

Camping pod

Liked: The clean camping pods and site. Everywhere seemed well maintained and new.

Disliked: The restaurant breakfast wasn’t worth the £35 with the fried eggs and bacon over cooked and burnt. The tea would have been nice in teapots to be able to pour yourself and have additional cups with your breakfast. The plates were literally given to you with no indication where sauces, cutlery were and no napkins to be found. The toilets (although very clean) were too far away from the pods so going to the toilet on your own in the night wouldn’t be advised. It looks like the pod area is new so maybe it’s being developed but there does need some landscaping or nice views from the pods. Paying for wifi £14.99 for 4 days!! This was a real disappointment The pods could do with a small fridge.

Powered concrete slab caravan site

Liked: The site was clean, modern and fresh site. Staff were really friendly. Great for star gazing and a 5-10 min drive to Bude Town centre. Bude beach is lovely and allows dogs.

Disliked: A great big static caravan parked up for storing in front of our camping pod, which completely blocked what would've been a beautiful view. A lot of the very small menu in the clubhouse was unavailable, when our food arrived it was missing sides which we were then told were unavailable. We weren't offered an alternative or any money off. We were then also overcharged by nearly £10 for our meal. We didn't go back to the clubhouse again, which was a shame because it looked great. No shelter or hot water for washing up with. It always seems we suffer at these places for going outside of the busy season, its like we're not as important as the busy season guests!

Local attractions

Guests are spoiled for choice when it comes to brilliant beaches around: Bude (15 minutes' drive) has two of the best in Summerleaze, which has an open-air sea pool, and Crooklets, a popular spot for surfers. Other good options nearby include Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven (rockpooltastic) and the National Trust’s Sandymouth Bay with its own waterfall. Trebarwith Strand and Westward Ho! are little further afield at 30 and 45 minutes away. Top ideas for day trips include the castles at Tintagel and Launceston, the pretty cobbled lanes and ancient harbour of Clovelly (cars are banned in the village, but there are plenty of donkeys), the Eden Project’s exotic architecture – and contents, Padstow Harbour (famously home to Rick Stein and his multiple tastebud-ticklers), the romantic fishing villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, and Bodmin Jail, a historic civil and naval prison which is now a museum, and is famed for its ghost hunting opportunities. There are three adventure parks for kids in the area: Trethorne Leisure Farm, which has lots of cuddly farm animals, indoor sliding, bouncing and climbing, and outdoor action including pedalos, crazy golf and electric cars; Atlantis Adventure Park (handily located within the the Atlantic Village shopping outlet…); and the Milky Way Adventure Park, which has rides and rollercoasters, assault courses, live shows and falconry displays.
