What customers say
A cosy, quiet spot by Stithians Lake with a welcoming pub serving top tucker. While staff, value and views get a thumbs up, the loos and showers are a bit dated and basic, with some finding pitches tight.

What a gem of a site!…

Liked What a gem of a site! Our first visit to the Golden Lion Lakeside Camping. The facilities were kept clean throughout our stay. The site is so peaceful and the lake has many species of bird life. The night sky is fantastic due to the lack of artificial light in the area.
The pub boasts one of the prettiest beer gardens we've seen. Split into small intimate seating areas it is a magnet for little people to explore!
The lake has a watersports centre with a range of activities and a pleasant café.
There is a limited bus service between Falmouth and Camborne, but due to ongoing roadworks doesn't appear to go past the pub at the moment.
The pub owner Glen and her friendly and engaging staff looked after us so well, Ingrid, Dolly, Kellie, Tom, Zennar and Amelie you are all fantastic - sorry if we missed anyone. The menu offers a good variety of proper dishes, nice to see a pub menu without burgers, chicken strips, pizzas!
The Sunday roast is a favourite with locals and you need to book to avoid disappointment!
To summarise, we enjoyed our four day stay at Lakeside Camping, couldn't find fault and will definitely be returning!

Liked Location, lakeside views, staff were more than polite and helpful (I had toothache one 1st night and the ladies in the pub gave my partner some salt so I could have a mouthwash) food in the pub was absolutely delicious and not a bad price either, the pitch size was more than enough, facilities were a short walk and well lit, pub garden really lovely, is only a little campsite but a great atmosphere, we booked for Monday to Friday but as it was bank holiday my partner asked if we could come down a day early which they shuffled a few things and were able to accommodate us.
Disliked The shower and toilets weren’t the cleanest so could be improved with a bit more cleaning and the doors don’t all lock very well. As there are no shops local the pub could probably benefit from maybe selling a small selection of groceries like bread, milk etc.
