Liked: Bathroom and toilet facilities are excellent. The bathrooms contain shower, sink and toilet and are big enough for a family to go in there together. Locations is lovely. Pitch must be well draining because it rained persistently all day on one of the days I was there, but it didn’t get flooded or muddy. Nice hot water in bathrooms and washing up area. Very clean.

Disliked: No wifi, but wasn’t really a problem

Liked: Lovely clean, spacious bathrooms, lots of hot water for the showers. Flat pitches under the hedge to protect us from the weather. Well stocked farm shop. Friendly, helpful and welcoming owners.

Liked: The detailed directions, friendly welcome & peaceful spacious site. Extremely clean free showers and toilets. Sufficient toilet rolls, available freezer for blocks. Lovely uninterrupted views of the sea & countryside. Lots of bird life and farm animals close by.

Liked: Great value, well laid out and maintained site, on a working farm, with a modern toilet/shower block and it’s own small shop, a short walk down a steep hill to the top of Polperro and it’s pubs and restaurants, with easy access to the South West Coast Path - also a great base for touring the rest of Cornwall and nearby Devon.

Route directions

If bringing a motorhome or caravan, don’t follow Google Maps/satnav but use the instructions below. Leave Looe, heading for Pelynt. In Pelynt, take the left turn by the church and follow sign for Lansallos. At the crossroads turn left and travel for about 3/4 mile, then turn left again at the staggered crossroads, looking out for the Great Kellow sign. After half a mile you’ll see another sign at a right-hand bend. Follow the road around two more bends and the Great Kellow Farm entrance is on your left. Please be aware that from the village of Pelynt you will be on country roads but there are multiple passing places.

Local attractions

So, the seaside has caught your eye. It’s no surprise, because there’s a lot of that around this area, and a real load of activities. Your nearest beach days include Looe (10 minutes’ drive), where there’s crabbing and sandcastle crafting to get stuck into, Talland Bay (10 minutes), a quieter place for swimming, and Lansallos beach (10 minutes) with some splendid coastal walks around it. Lantic Bay (10 minutes) is a nice way to round off your seaside adventures, as is joining in with the fishing in Fowey (40 minutes), before moving onto the big activity centre at Adrenalin Quarry (25 minutes). The big question there is ziplining, go-karting or the inflatable assault course? Feeling like some nature or wildlife too? Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (15 minutes) is one of the closest spots to the site, while the Eden Project (40 minutes) has rainforest biomes further out. You might want to see Lanhydrock House and Garden (half an hour), a Victorian country house with some spectacular gardens, or the three-acre Hidden Valley Gardens (35 minutes) too.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the campground/park are unlit.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Occupancy

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Vehicles

Only one car is to be parked at the site. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

Open fires are prohibited.
Please do not touch or feed the animals.

General

Quiet hours must be respected between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.

Occupancy

The campground/park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Dogs

The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dog Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

General

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
