  • Family- and dog-friendly site a mile from stunning Mousehole harbour
  • Ramblers’ paradise: easy access to the South West Coast Path
  • A 25-minute drive from Land's End, 20 minutes from top surfing spots
Cornish beaches, busy towns and a scenic fishing village with a great story… You get it all at Mousehole Camping, a family site in the village of Paul, five minutes’ drive from Mousehole and 15 minutes from Penzance. Mousehole Camping is a prime spot to base yourself for some exploration of Cornwall: in nearby Penzance, you can pick up the South West Coast Path and the St Ives Bay Line, bringing the dog along so the two of you can call into some of the dog-friendly pubs along the route. Make your way into Mousehole and down to the harbour to laze on the beach or do as the locals do and fish… then wander the cobbled streets, nose around galleries and local shops, and eat at the fishy-focused restaurants. Back on site, Mousehole Camping is in the grounds of a local football club, where matches can occur at short notice (the site tries to minimise the disruption but bear this in mind). Guests get free entry to the football matches, where a clubhouse bar is open on match days. The facilities (a couple of minutes' walk from the main camping area) are shared with the football club and include toilets and one accessible shower and toilet cubicle. The accessible cubicle may be closed to campers on match days or for maintenance, but the other toilet is always available. There's also wifi (although it sometimes doesn't work). Barbecues are allowed: pick up supplies from the supermarkets in Penzance or fresh fish from the port in Newlyn, five minutes away. If you’d prefer a break from cooking, stroll to the village pub for some food and drinks, or try one of the restaurants within 15 minutes of the site. Please note that this site is run by volunteers. From mid-September until Easter, there are no permanent staff on site.

Liked: Review: I recently had the pleasure of staying at this campsite, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a tranquil oasis nestled amidst nature’s beauty. Location and Maintenance: The campsite’s location is simply idyllic. it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As for maintenance, I was thoroughly impressed. The facilities were impeccably clean, and the shared areas were well-maintained. Despite the number of campers, there was never a moment when I encountered any issues with the toilets or other amenities. Kudos to the staff for their dedication! Friendly Atmosphere: What truly sets this campsite apart is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Fellow campers greeted each other with smiles, and there was a sense of camaraderie that made me feel instantly at ease. Verdict: If you’re looking for a serene getaway where you can recharge your soul, this campsite is the place to be. I left feeling rejuvenated, grateful for the experience, and already planning my next visit. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a magical haven!

Disliked: Enhancing Connectivity: A Friendly Suggestion While I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this campsite, I couldn’t help but notice that the internet connectivity could be improved. From the setup I realised , it would be better to have a signal booster near campsite

From the manager: Hi Sankarraman Thank you for leaving us a review. I think that is the most comprehensive and positive review that we have ever received. These sort of reviews really make it all worthwhile, glad to hear you had a stay and got a break from the stresses of day to day life. Regarding your suggestions about internet connectivity, we are due to have internet upgraded to service the camping pitches soon (12th June) so all being well next time you stay you will be able to enjoy wifi from your pitch. Kind regards Mousehole Camping

Liked: The tent was in excellent condition and they provided with all necessity amenities like heater , bed , charging points, table lamp and a small table only duet we bought which was perfect for stay.

Disliked: It would be good if you provide some additional amenties like water bottle and kettle option which feel would be useful.

From the manager: Hi Frances, Sorry to read you didn't enjoy your stay. Obviously our site is not for everyone. We do think some of your scoring is unnecessarily harsh. Although our facilities are a short walk away they are cleaned twice daily, our site is very child friendly as the large grass area makes an excellent play area for children. The fact that we are at the end of the village with no passing traffic means we are in a safe area. Our site is very popular with families. Our Wifi is free and has good speed although you do have to sit near to the clubhouse to connect to it. Customer service wise, we provided you with emails about the site and greeted you on arrival and offered information about the local area, we can't really do more than that. However thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we do listen to all feedback and we try and improve where possible. Regards Mousehole Camping

Disliked: £35 per night is expensive Huge pot-holes in track leading to the camp site Facilities a long way away from the pitches No grey water disposal

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We agree with you on the pot holes road through the village to access the campsite and that our facilities would ideally be a little closer. We are currently upgrading our facilities to have toilets closer to the pitches. However we do think our pricing is reflective of what we have to offer. Our location allows easy access to the historic village of Paul and the picturesque village of Mousehole, both easily reachable on foot. We appreciate that our site is not for everyone. Kind regards Mousehole Camping

Powered concrete and grass motorhome site

Liked: Quiet location, flat hard standing pitches. We were told there's is a good pub within a ten minute walk but we didn't go

Disliked: Poor access road, pitches a long distance from facilities, very limited facilities in a poor state of repair. TV reception also fluctuated and WiFi was quite poor on the pitch we were on (pitch one) with no mobile internet via either EE or Vodafone.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Jill, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to see that you were disappointed with your stay here. As you probably saw we have new facilities currently being built on site that are much closer and will be ready for the summer season if you did decide to return. Our WiFi although in some corners of the site can drop out, is free and fast and we did offer the option to you of moving pitches so you could have a better connection. We offer our free WiFi due to the lack of phone reception in the area. Kind regards Mousehole Camping

From the manager: Hi Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the feedback, the toilets are only a short walk around the football pitch, less than 200metres away, but we do understand that is too far for everyone's liking, we do currently have siteworks underway which will see new facilities for the campsite. We do also include free high speed wifi at our site. The password and network name are posted on our notice board at the entrance to the site. Kind regards Mousehole camping

Local attractions

Fans of BBC costume drama Poldark will find plenty to keep them occupied around here, with many names and places to recognise: Godolphin House, the mines at Botallack and Levant, and Porthcurno beach (Nampara Cove) are all within half an hour of Mousehole Camping and all worth a visit. Of course, if your passions lie less in TV drama and more in the arts, you won’t be let down – catching a show at the Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre carved into the cliffs above Porthcurno, is an absolute must. You can’t very well make a trip to this part of Cornwall and not visit the most westerly point of mainland England… Land’s End is a 25-minute drive from Mousehole Camping. Be sure to get a photo with the famed sign, and stop for a Cornish cream tea before you leave. Anyone drawn to the ocean will have plenty to do too: the top-notch surfing beach at Sennen is 20 minutes away, boat trips out to the Scilly Isles leave Penzance regularly, and the stunning St Michael’s Mount is a short walk along a causeway or an even shorter boat journey from the coast.
