  • Dog-friendly farm site two miles from the Cornwall coast
  • Several beaches and coastal paths within walking distance of the site
  • Restaurants, café and a pub within 10 minutes’ walk of site
Paddleboarding, coasteering, or going for a light paddle alongside the golden sand… these sorts of things aren’t hard to come by when you stay at Tresco Farm, a small farm site two miles from the Cornwall coast. Being five minutes’ drive away from the nearest sandy beach and 10 minutes’ drive away from many more coves, you’ll be primed to launch out towards watersports hotspots, sheltered bays and sand dunes. Walk if you wish or perhaps leave the car behind entirely… many of the beaches are within walking distance of the site (Harlyn Bay is a 45-minute walk), as is the local village. Plus, there are plenty of coastal routes on hand in case you’re keen to set off further away on foot. Just grab your walking boots and put your faith in a trail. On the edge of Saint Merryn (a rather splendid seaside village), the farm is also well-situated for those of you who often have pub grub on the brain. There are a couple of restaurants, a café and a pub within 10 minutes’ walk of site, and more amenities on the outskirts of the village. Handily for those families among you, the closest pub has decking and a children’s play area too. As for facilities on site, there is a toilet and shower block which has two female toilets with a shower and two male toilets with a shower. Plus, if your dog is an essential companion on your trip, you won’t have to leave them behind here – as they’re welcome on site.

Liked Friendly staff, nice spacious camping area, access to free tea, coffee and milk

From the manager: Appreciate the review Josh! Although, I think you might have been using other guest's milk in the communal fridge 😂 this is why we ask guests to label their belongings.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Nice campsite where you could pitch anywhere you liked.
Shed with kettle, microwave and fridge was great. Also lots of plugins for charging.

Disliked There were no chairs or tables anywhere. As a hiker in a small tent it would have been nice if there had been a place where you could sit.

From the manager: Hi Joanne,

Local attractions

With so much choice in the way of beaches and coastal hikes, you’ll want to weigh up your options. To go to Constantine Bay (five minutes’ drive), a sandy destination with excellent swimming and rockpooling? Or Harlyn Bay (10 minutes), another sandy spot that has kayaking and paddleboard hire, coasteering activities and a surf school for those of you looking to catch your first wave? There’s Treyarnon Bay (10 minutes) to brush up on your surf skills some more and Mother Ivey's Bay (10 minutes) if you’re searching for a more sheltered sandy bay. As for other ways to take in the gorgeous coastline, head to Padstow (10 minutes) to board a boat from the fishing port or Trevose Headland (10 minutes) to go birdwatching along the National Trust's clifftops. The following both have camel in the name, but they’re very fine activities with a different spin: Camel Creek Adventure Park (10 minutes) is packed with family-friendly rides and animals that the kids can meet up close, while The Camel Trail (10 minutes) is an 18-mile old railway trail that will take you on a cycle from Padstow, past the estuary and into Wadebridge.
