Powered grass site

Liked: N/A

Disliked: No-one there to greet me. Rang both contact numbers multiple times and left messages. No answer and no reply. After 30 mins of waiting I drove round the site looking for someone. Eventually the handyman said to just park anywhere. Toilet block is outdated and smelt absolutely horrible. Did not feel safe and would never return. Badger field is not flat and right next to main road so traffic noise constantly.

Powered grass site

Liked: Plenty of space per pitch in a really convenient location

Disliked: No on-site shop for even basics (bread, milk etc) WiFi wasn’t working for the duration of our stay and toilet block smelt of sulphur which was quite a lot to manage whilst using the facilities. (This hasn’t been a problem when we stayed previously which is why we rebooked)

Unpowered grass tent, caravan or trailer tent site

Liked: Big pitch size, good location

Disliked: This is not a holiday site as you would imagine, there are alot of families in the caravans that are awaiting housing.
Tents/motor homes and caravans put into the same field, big pile of rubbish in the field as you drive in.
No charcoal BBQ allowed, showers not cleaned properly, smelt like sewage in the first shower.
Free WiFi but everyone is on it, so it doesn't run well.
Games room closed, struggle to get to use the washer as it's also used by all the residents, we ended up taking it to a laundrette

Unpowered grass tent, caravan or trailer tent site

Liked: The campsite is central to places we liked to visit. My daughters made friends and loved going to the park each evening.

Disliked: After staying here last year, we decided to return and have to say it has declined. The main issue being the state of the toilets and showers. I have read recent reviews and to say ‘we clean as we go’ is very untrue. Last year I couldn’t go to the toilet without seeing the owner cleaning and they always smelled very fresh. This year i saw the cleaner once in my 9 day stay. I had to show her there was poo on one of the toilets, as she had ‘already’ cleaned. (Yet missed this)
The showers are terrible. The grating at the side, where grass etc falls into, really needs to be cleaned out. There is grass, hair and even plastic from a shower gel in this grating. It was still there the day I left so the cleaning is not done as and when and I feel this lets the site down massively. The floor must be mopped with cold water and just back and forth, so no dirt gets removed, it gets pushed around . The mat upon entry to the toilets has never been vacuumed, just brushed, with zero effect.
The smell of cannabis or marijuana has been overpowering at times and this seems to come from the static home facing the toilet block.
The whole static area appears to be residential now, that didn’t bother me as everyone was friendly and the kids all played and joined in great.
The huge pile of wood straight ahead upon arrival at badger field is an eyesore and should be cleared asap.
I feel it’s a huge shame that the cleaning lets down what could be a brilliant little campsite.
The games room should now be open, covid is behind us and when raining it would be good for the kids to have something to do, although I think location wise it needs to be closer to the park and camping area and not in the residential static area.
I would stay again, if the cleaning were at the standard it was in 2021. (Grass coming in from the field is not the issue)

Unpowered grass tent, caravan or trailer tent site

Liked: The tent field was huge. Plenty of space between each pitch. It’s not completely level but considering the amount of rain we had there were no boggy patches or mud. The lady on reception was welcoming and friendly.
Nice little park for the kids but could do with some work.

Disliked: The facilities were good although the timers on the showers could be extended. Totally understand why they and the sink taps are on the push and release but the sink taps make it impossible to wash both hands at once as they immediately when released. A bit tricky for the kids.
The ladies could have done with a mop a bit more often, particularly the showers however it rained the entire week so wouldn’t expect constant sparkles!
