This was our first off-grid camping…
Wildflower tipi
Liked This was our first off-grid camping adventure, and we loved it. The host, James, was friendly and helpful, and the accommodation was brilliant! My family of four (kids 10 & 8) stayed in the Wildflower Teepee, which was far enough from the communal fire area to give us some privacy, but was close enough to pop back and forth in minutes. It was spacious, had comphy beds, and the log burner inside worked a treat. We needed to warm up the tent as we got caught out by the ever present Cornish rain and were able to try out our clothes without issue.
The communal fire area was warm in terms of the welcoming attitude of other campers and the host and the roaring fire we could cook on in the evening. The covered outdoor kitchen was fully stocked with all the cookware/ utensils we needed and more.
The icing on the cake was the two eight-foot tables of LEGO under the parachute canopy, and seeing both adults and children alike get drawn in and build together. My only heads up is to follow the advice on the website and definitely bring torches—you will need them!
Disliked My only dislike was that only one toilet and shower were available. I understand the site has some big plans tho, so we will keep coming back and enjoy the upgrades as they happen.

Bamboo safari tent
Liked Really enjoyed the peaceful nature of the site. Jame (owner) is about as friendly and accommodating as they come. He has a real love for nature and it shows in his attitude and outlook.
It’s encouraged (but not mandatory) for communal eating (round the fire pit) and we stayed 12 nights and would say 8-9 of those were had there in great company with other guests which generated a wonderful shared experience.
Kids (7 year old twins) loved the whole experience and we have already booked a return visit in May. We like our creature comforts but it was worth the compromise to feel like you were a kid again and were camping in the woods, great family break.
