  • Coastal Cornwall site with stunning sea views and sunsets
  • Port Isaac and Tintagel 10 minutes' drive; 15 minutes to Polzeath
  • Farm shop, café and bar on site; mile-long footpath to the coast
Like a sea view? Like it even more at sunset? And even more again when you’ve got local snacks and drinks to enjoy while you take it all in? Then the setup at Sea View Cabins and Wild Camping should be very much to your liking… As the name promises, there are great views out over the waves from this Cornish site – and as the camping field faces west they’re best enjoyed in the evening as the sun goes down. In general it’s a pretty peaceful place, and that’s particularly true after 9pm when the no-noise rule kicks in so that everyone can have a good night’s sleep. And what of those local eats and drinks? Well, they’re provided by the farm shop that’s also part of the property. You can settle in at the café or bar areas if you like, or pick up bits for your own picnic or barbecue – and that includes quality meat produced by the site owners. Firepits are permitted if you’d like to bring one along, and you can pick up logs, charcoal and lighters in the shop. Working up an appetite for all that should be straightforward, as this is an excellent spot for exploring North Cornwall. You can walk down to the coast path along a mile-long footpath, and then continue along to Port Isaac, a couple of miles further along (and which UK viewers may recognise as the setting for the TV show Doc Martin). More beaches and attractions are within easy reach too, and if you need a change of scenery it’s not far to get to Bodmin Moor for inland walks. Back at base, there are hot showers and toilets open 24 hours a day in the farm shop, and an extra compost toilet in the camping field.

Local attractions

You could just sit and admire the sea views on site, but there’s plenty more coast to explore nearby. For beaches, try the sands at Trebarwith (10 minutes’ drive) or Polzeath (15 minutes), or set off to Padstow (half an hour) where you can also dine in style at several celeb-owned restaurants. The fishing village of Port Isaac (10 minutes) and Tintagel Castle (10 minutes) are worth a trip too. Looking inland instead, there are great walks around Bodmin Moor (20 minutes) and dark stories to scare the kids with at Bodmin Jail Attraction (25 minutes). The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic (15 minutes) is full of spooky and strange artefacts as well. For something a little on the lighter side, try the Giant Slip and Slide Cornwall (five minutes) or the rides at Camel Creek Family Theme Park (25 minutes).

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: The view

Disliked: The welcome was very casual, my name wasn't taken, the staff didn't seem to care or really know anything. For what it was it was very expensive

Cabin

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Everything
On arrival, very laid back and the girls in the cafe didnt really know what we were there for or who would know. A maybe 10 year old girl was asked to get her parents (farm owners) to attend but was sent back to say we could check in early and literaly pointed where to go with a finger!!!.
We got to the "shed" and we were gravely disappointed, worst thing was the shed is literally alongside a hedge with a main road behjnd it!!! A basic bed, no blankets, 2 USB points with dim lighting strips, a joke for the price.
The shower was a let down, a roof would be handy if rains and OMG the eco toilet was 10ft drop hole!! Full of cobwebs and 150ft away from cabin through long grass!
We told the owner we could not sleep in the "cabin with a view" with the noise from the road on this "peaceful and tranquil campsite" - accurately it should read shed in a cow field with no view as bushes on opposite side of the field were overgrown!! We looked at one of the bell tents and there was no organisation, owner didn't seem to know if there was any empty one or not but all were wet throughout anyway. We drove off and travelled home a day early - £85 per night AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF AND PITCH UP NEED TO STOP BOOKING THIS DREADFUL PLACE! If only we could get a refund.....

Bell tent

Liked: The view is stunning, the farm shop/bar is beautiful and perfect for a sundowner. The facilities were perfect for wild camping and the shower was one of the best I ever have used. The whole experience was fantastic and the host Sarah was very laid back and super helpful. Dog friendly…..

Disliked: Nothing it was great

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: The view

Disliked: Poor facilities, washing up was a single sink in a field with only cold water, only one shower which was a wooden box with grass growing through the floor and no roof, we didn't use it as it was raining. Quite a long walk to the toilets. No site information leaflet.
