Find your new happy place at Creative Camping, an aptly named campsite close to the West Sussex coastline. Located midway between Selsey on the coast and the historic city of Chichester, this laidback spot is a top pick for families and friends looking for a getaway somewhere just that little bit different. As well as the well-maintained pitches and green outdoor area, Creative Camping has a spacious indoor area for guests to enjoy. Come and relax on the indoor 'beach', sit back on one of the comfy chairs, let the kids play in the sandpit or take your pick of the games and books on offer. The indoor space also has a lounge and dining area, a kitchen with sinks, two toilets, two showers, a changing room and a baby changing table. When you spend time outside, you'll appreciate the site's quiet location away from the road and the natural feel of the place – sit back and relax and it's quite likely that you'll see birds of prey flying overhead. Dogs are welcome here and there's easy access to footpaths in the local area for their walks. The sensible use of open fires and barbecues is allowed, and guests can make use of the site's big barbecue and pizza oven. Handily, Sidlesham village centre, where there is a pub, is about a quarter of a mile away to the north.

  • Reception is unmanned after 7:30 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
  • At least one of the party members must be aged 25 or over.
  • A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • No electric barbecues allowed.

A ripper campsite! Owners are legends, facilities are spotless, and there's loads of freebies. Perfect for families with heaps for kids to do. A bit of road noise and could do with a spruce-up, but great value and a chilled vibe. Lots keen to head back!

Liked This was our third visit and we love everything. We are planning to come back next year. We had trouble with some very strong wind and kym offered us help which was lovely of her. The facilities are all well maintained and cleaned to a high standard.

Disliked Other campers that didnt stick to the rules but kym did have a word with them when we made her aware

Liked Host was lovely. Thoughtful. Site was good. Lots of spare BBQ’s etc. fun place if you have small children ( indoor beach area).

Petrol station nearby, with milk, newspapers etc.

Liked The big details: a cozy sitting area outdoors plus a communal kitchen for tenters and a cozy communal lounge for bad weather days. Choice toilets! Always enough of them.

Little details: the lights and fire at the entrance of reception - so pretty.

The shop, beautiful work : jewelry and leather at a campsite.

Liked Excellent campsite for anyone with children so much for them to do, lots of go karts, scooters, ride ons for toddlers, play house. Toys and books inside the communal area which also had communal fridge and freezer, microwave and kettle. Washing areas at either end of the site. Indoor and outdoor toilets and showers. Owners very helpful and friendly and just a phone call away. We had a issue with a wasp nest behind our tent and it was sorted asap. Pitch sizes are very generous and extremely good value for money.
Will definitely come back next summer and have recommended this site to everyone we have spoke to.

Disliked Only thing I would suggest is some more toilets at the other end of the campsite, but this is more of a suggestion rather than negative feedback.

Liked This is a great family campsite with super close amenities and a dog walk just outside the camp. We stayed here as we were visiting family in the area and would use again. Camp owners were lovely and accommodating, the craft area was so lovely and the indoor play area plus sand pit was an absolute hit with our little boy. Very small campsite which was great for us as he could go off on the go karts and other toys and we could keep an eye on him without worrying he was going missing! I'd highly recommend this cooky campsite to anyone with little ones! Proper indoor showers but also outside ones if you're brave enough! Honestly couldn't fault it.

Local attractions

There are all sorts of coastal corners you'll want to explore while in West Sussex, from the wildlife haven wetlands of RSPB Pagham Harbour (five minutes' drive) to the cheerful seafront at Selsey (10 minutes) or the sandy stretches of West Wittering (15 minutes). Slightly further afield, it's easy to get to other maritime spots, whether you fancy a day trip to the seaside resort and pleasure harbour at Littlehampton (30 minutes) or want to walk around the historic dockyards of Portsmouth (30 minutes). Jaunts to the bright lights and vintage shops of Brighton (an hour and 10 minutes) are also on the cards if you fancy a really special day out. There's also much to see and do inland locally, with many of the prettiest parts of the South Downs National Park just a short drive away. While you're in the area, make sure to check out pretty historic country estates like Arundel Castle (25 minutes), and if ancient history's your thing you can make tracks for the mosaics and columns of Fishbourne Roman Palace (15 minutes).
