What customers say
Great spacious sites, clean facilities & helpful staff. Handy for walks. BUT, constant low-flying planes are a big issue. Some found paying for showers and no central shop a drag.

Nice for those who enjoy crowds
Shepherd's hut
Liked The hut was nice
Disliked Very crowded, the hut is extremely close to the hut next to it and on the busy path, so we had streams of people walking past the hut while eating. Might work for you if you enjoy crowds or if you had a large group and booked multiple huts. The hut was not cheap to hire, so the charge for the showers seemed unreasonable, as we could have hired a cute flat on abnb for the same price

A beautiful camp site with excellent facilities.
Powered grass site
Liked A very beautiful camp site. The grounds are well maintained with excellent shower and toilet facilities.
We had a great time here and the children were able to freely explore the woods and stream. We were lucky to have extra space for a game of Kubb and cricket.
The on-site shop and snack truck sold ice-creams which were needed in the sunshine.
The staff were very friendly. Our tents were pitched opposite the park. We had issues with older children hanging out in the park at 11/12pm swearing and being very noisy. They were staying in the tree houses. Despite telling them to stop swearing and be quiet, this didn't make a difference. Emails were sent out the next day, to remind guests of the rules and 10pm is quiet time. Unfortunately, this didn't make a difference.
It may be a good idea, if a member of staff did a drive through at 10pm to ensure all guests were abiding by the rules.
Despite, this small issue it did not ruin or dampen our weekend. We all had a fabulous time.
Disliked This camp site is next to Gatwick airport and you do get low planes flying above every couple of minutes. This can-not be helped but the planes are very loud and continue to fly through-out the night.
I advise people to pack ear-plugs so you are not disturbed during the night.

Ok for the walks, but thats about it.
Unpowered grass site
Liked The dogs walks and Bridles paths. The pub in walking distance. The size of the boys were generous. The bar onsite was fairly priced.
Disliked Lack of basic items in the onsite shop. Screaming kids at 8am on a Sunday morning. Kids playing is lovely, but screaming uncontrollably is not ok. Smelly shower blocks which were too far from the Hayfield and half the site was a building site with random businesses on which gave it a rough feel. Not bad, but not for us.
The WiFi is chargeable.

Good site but with drawbacks.
Powered grass site
Liked Good sized pitch. Clean toilets and showers (...which we were fairly close to at the top of the Hayfield). However, not so keen on combined showers and toilet cubicles in the top block nearest us. Middle block less used and conventional style. However, people on the bottom pitches would have had a lengthy yomp to get to them!
Disliked Goes against the grain having to pay 50p per shower on top of site fees. Shame it's under the Gatwick flight path as its very noisy most of the day. Wouldn't want to be on the pitches closest to the snack and drinks wagons, when open and busy!

We saw no staff pitch is a mixture of permanent pitches and a garage
Powered grass site
Liked The pitch was large.
Disliked There was nothing on the web site which stated the site was on a flight path. We had aeroplanes going over from 5am every 3mins. I recorded the sound and it was above what is acceptable. We left the site after one day.
The washrooms are a long way from pitches.
Disappointed as we have used pitch up before with no complaints this site needs to be honest about the noise.
We lost out site fee for two days as a result of leaving.

Lovely friendly, clean site, will definitely use again

Liked Lovely site, great facilities, clean, loads of trees and wildflowers. Ken was very friendly and helpful. A short walk across fields to the local pub. We'll placed for days out, in walking distance of the British Wildlife center. Lots to see and do in the area.
Disliked They are still developing some areas of the site (statics) so some areas were a building site, but from what they have already done it will be lovely when it's finished.
The planes, directly under the approach to Gatwick, planes coming in every minute, when the larger ones come in you can't hear a person speak, but generally it's not too bad and I soon got used to them. They stop around 12.30am and start again around 5am. Great place if your a plane spotter.

Liked Staff were pleasant and helpful. Toilets and showers were clean and well spread out around the site only problem to far away from our pitch.
Disliked Field un level, on Gatwick flight path constant noise from planes 3-5 minutes stretching out to 10 minutes between 3am - 5 am.
