  • Superbly located Surrey campsite with easy motorway access
  • Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor within 30 mins' drive
  • On the banks of the River Thames, with Thames Path access
What a handy camping spot this is… Laleham Camping Club has easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, it’s close to Heathrow airport and Staines railway station is only about 10 minutes’ drive away for easy jaunts to the capital. On top of all that, there are all sorts of attractions within easy reach, including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor. And if that all sounds a bit exhausting, it’s good to know that the location within London’s protected Green Belt means you’ll have peaceful surroundings for relaxing on site. The River Thames runs alongside, giving you access to the Thames Path for walks and bike rides, or to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding and swims. The nearest major urban centre is Staines, accessible by car, bus or a walk along the riverbank and with a good collection of shops and restaurants, plus a cinema. Closer to home, Laleham village is 10 minutes’ stroll away, and has a convenience store and a choice of three pubs. The folk that run this Surrey site haven’t just relied on their location, though – they’ve made sure the place is a comfortable place to stay, with a good number of facilities including a launderette, free hot showers and handy extras including hairdryers and shaver points. Chillout time is well spent here too – there’s a small play park with sandpit in the centre of the site, and a wet-weather room with Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and a dartboard. Next door in Laleham Park there’s an outdoor gym, a bigger play park and plenty of space to play games or walk dogs.

Liked: The pitch we booked was really nice and big, the camping is so close to the Thames , you can do very nice strolling all along the banks of the river

Disliked: The sanitary block was completely out of date, which could be fine BUT from the 4 toilets , the 2 that were usable were disgustingly dirty ,every day, every moment, like no one would care anymore ....so sad to see...

Liked: As a solo mum with 2 children (9 & 11 yrs) I felt incredibly safe and happy with our stay. The site manager upon arrival was very welcoming and helpful in finding us the right pitch. She kindly let us stay in the electric hook up pitches as she said it would be nice and quiet away from the families with younger children. I even saw her popping over to everyone in the evening to make sure they were all okay which was a nice touch. It was my first time on my own camping with my children and we had a lovely time. Facilities were clean and tidy. I liked that it had a small park for the children in the centre of the camp site. Great for families but was also quiet enough if you do not have children. Staff were lovely.

Disliked: The only thing I would comment on is the spider webs in the bathrooms. It's an impossible task to keep ontop of these when you are at a campsite and amongst nature. My only reason for commenting on this is because my 2 children are not the best at dealing with spiders but that is more our problem than the camp sites!

Liked: Ally, the site warden is unbelievably friendly and helpful, she parked me near to another solo female traveller and was lovely because we ended up having a drink and a chat into the evening. She makes the site such a nice place to be and has such fantastic people skills. Showers were lovely, hot and clean!

Disliked: The chemical disposal point could do with a refresh and isn't the most pleasant to use, you feel a bit gross coming out of there but I just get my chores done and go and have a lovely shower so it definitely wouldn't put me off going back to stay.
