  • Small, peaceful site in the Isle of Wight Conservation Harmony Project
  • A 10-minute drive from Ryde; 15 minutes from Isle of Wight Festival
  • Nature trails and birdwatching on site; pub within walking distance
Nature's Haven is a small and intimate family-run site within the new Isle of Wight Conservation Harmony Project, just under 10 minutes’ drive from Ryde. The owners call this place a ‘hidden gem’ and pride themselves on providing a peaceful space where guests can experience nature at its finest. And what a place it is to do just that – an adults-only site with ancient woods and flower-filled meadows all around in an area specially dedicated to preserving the island’s natural habitats. To get a better picture of that nature, there are plenty of trails around the site where you may spot rare species like red squirrels and white-tailed eagles. If you’re not lucky on that front, enlist the help of a top local conservationist by booking a nature walk or birdwatching event on site. The views are just as fine after sunset, as the dark skies above often produce some excellent stargazing. And it’s not just the local wildlife that provides the entertainment – you don’t have to wander far from the site to spot the local steam train making its way through the woodland, or to find the nearest pub/restaurant (a 900-metre walk away through the coppice). Mixing up nature time and explores of the island is simple here: you can reach a beach, a vineyard and several attractions with a drive of 15 minutes or less. And if the words ‘Isle of Wight’ are instinctively followed by ‘Music Festival’ for you? The venue is 15 minutes’ drive away and shuttle services are available on request if you’d like a quiet place to retreat to once you’ve seen the bands in action.
