In the heart of beautiful countryside

  • Spacious grass pitches in a valley in the South Downs National Park
  • Hidden away and far from traffic noise
  • Many local walks and village with good pub a short walk away
Despite its name, guests at Brocklands Farm are highly unlikely to be badgered by anyone during their stay… This simple and peaceful site near Petersfield in the South Downs National Park keeps its pitch numbers low so guests can have plenty of space. It's secluded from traffic noise, in a lush green valley surrounded by lovely walks. The on-site facilities are limited to chemical waste disposal and a drinking water supply, but it’s an easy walk to the village of West Meon, where there’s a pub that serves grub, plus an award-winning butcher and a well-stocked community shop. The spacious pitches here are grassy and fairly level; rally groups and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

What customers say

A quiet, basic campsite in lovely country with great views and wildlife. Spacious, tidy spots with water/disposal. Easy access to Meon Valley & South Downs walks, short stroll to West Meon village. Some pitches are sloped, but it's praised for peace and value. Many plan to return.

Liked We love this site. There is nothing to do but relax and we nature watch. This stay we were watching the hares in the fields and also saw deer and a Tawny Owl. If you love peace and quiet and nature this is certainly the place. However, it is also a short walk into the village of West Meon, where there is a good butchers, a little shop and coffee shop and pub, all which we used. Great for a few nights stay, peaceful and friendly, both the owners and the other campers

Disliked Nothing, but we were aware of the restricted facilities

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked It was a lovely stay 3 nights... Water and chemical available as described...
Great location for a relaxed stay. The walsk around the farm are very scenic, I would like to return and have a bit more of an explore of the Meon Valley which was lovely. I saw a Hare, Red Kite and some beautiful moths.

Disliked Could hear traffic from road, the write up described as a place where you couldn't but it wasn't a problem. Travelling solo and being the only one there on the last night I would have liked a bit more acknowledgement of arrival and seen someone 'official' on site.

Local attractions

The tree-lined former railway line that runs next to Brocklands is an excellent starting point for rambles and cycle rides; a popular destination a couple of miles away is Old Winchester Hill, a nature reserve with an Iron Age Hill fort. is also very handy for the South Downs Way, for those who want to walk or pedal further afield. The Watercress Line heritage railway, which runs from New Alresford to Alton, is another lovely way to explore the Hampshire countryside; or if you prefer to stay put, you could always park yourself in a scenic spot at the Moorhen Trout Fishery up the road. For a fulfilling day trip, wend your way to winsome Winchester: if you’re lucky, you may catch the famous choir in action within the splendour of the 900-year-old cathedral; other visitor attractions in this charming and compact city include a range of excellent museums, castle ruins, and an Arthurian round table, plus fab restaurants and independent shops. Lively Chichester is another pleasant place to while away a day, or you could head to Portsmouth to take a harbour tour and visit the historic dockyards, where HMS Victory and the Mary Rose are among the naval exhibits on display.
