  • Dog-friendly pop-up site in a spacious four-acre field
  • A 10-minute drive from beaches and 15 minutes from Milford on Sea
  • A 10-minute walk from a microbrewery, spa, vegan café and restaurant
Whether you’re paddleboarding on local beaches, pursuing outdoor activities in the New Forest or mooching around the nearby towns, there’s a great balance between civilisation and peaceful countryside at In Nature Camping in Dorset. Under a mile from the edge of the New Forest National Park and 10 minutes’ drive away from beaches, there’s lots on the agenda here: days at the beach, visits to nearby historic towns and properties, shopping or even chilling with a spa treatment at the venue a short walk away. Also within 10 minutes' walk of the site is a vegan café and a restaurant. There’s a microbrewery 10 minutes' walk away, which serves drinks like small-cask beer, handcrafted ales and ‘unfined’ beer. A five-minute drive away, there’s another café with pick-your-own farm produce activities - how lovely. The closest beaches for strolls, snoozes, swimming and the likes are Avon beach (10 minutes), Highcliffe beach (10 minutes) Barton-on-sea beach (10 minutes). As for interesting local towns with shops and cafés, make your way to Highcliffe (five minutes), Christchurch (10 minutes), New Milton (five minutes) and Milford on Sea (15 minutes). The main road from Lyndhurst to the coast runs just a short distance from the field, making it nice and easy to access local attractions. What about the place you’ll be calling home for your Dorset holiday? Off-grid, it’s very much a wildlife haven. Try your hand at self-sufficiency (barbecues and firepits are allowed, weather conditions permitting) or grab your meals locally. There are four hot showers, six toilets and two washing-up sinks for those of you who decide to dust off the old camp stove and try cooking under the stars.

Rental tent

Liked: The site was tucked away off the main road, which offered it a peaceful silence. Was warmly welcomed and was shown around by Jeremy, who was practically onsite 24/7. The facilities where to be expected. Good warm showers and a washing up station, and portaloos strategically placed around the site without being too obtrusive. The site is great for all comers, especially families. And most of all, it won't break the bank.

Rental tent

Liked: Great to arrive to a ready erected tent and to find the manager was camping on the site too, so available 24/7. The loos are basic chemical ones but always clean and well stocked with loo rollls and hand sanitiser. The showers were always hot and the wash up and bathroom sinks were always clean and available. A great pop up site in my opinion and I loved the fire pit made for us by the site manager. I walked from the site down to the coast( 45 mins) through some lovely wooded areas. S

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: Lovely site, well organised, thoughtfully set up facilities and very clean. The manager was friendly and offered helpful info about the area. Relaxing stay and we plan to come back next year. Next year may use one of the rental tents on offer as good value for money for less stress setting up.

Disliked: busy road so limited options for walking without the car, but lots a short drive away

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: The owner was always in sight and was very helpful. The field was not overcrowded with campers, quieter than other sites we've been. Taps with cold drinking water located around the pitches. Plenty of toilets located around the field too. Loved the fact that they used solar power to work the hot water at the washing up sink and the showers. There were only 4 showers but the whole campsite managed to use them without much queuing. We had no electric charging point, which is perfect if you want the off the grid experience! You can only enjoy truly being in nature if you ditch your devices!

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: The simplicity of the site is great. I like being self reliant! Beautiful area, lots of trees and singing birds and the night sky is great for star gazing. Everyone is spread out, so you don't feel like anyone is on top of you. They don't overfill the site, which is one of the reasons I booked. The toilets are cleaned daily and spread out evenly throughout the site. The showers are simple but perfectly great and there is even a useful wash area for dishes after your meals. There are also drinking water taps dotted around the site for easy access.

Disliked: I'd prefer it if there was a noise enforcement of some sort. Some people were playing music very late into the night / early hours of the morning. It's not the campsite's problem of course, but perhaps a final night time sweep of the site to ask people to lower music by 11pm latest would be nice.

From the manager: Hi guys we do are best to make people keep the noise down after 12pm but it was bank holiday and there was a few family’s having a bit of too much of a good time. It took me a hour to make them quite down.

Hosts were great. Always available and kept everything going…

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked: This was the second year in a row that we had booked this site and it did not disappoint ( despite the rain 😬 ) Friendly organisers that want to see everyone happy and enjoying their stay . Hot showers and regularly cleaned facilities. Facilities had been upgraded and had more showers than last year. It was a good addition to be offered the fire pits as saved having to bring our own ( gets messy bringing our own ) We find the camp is a great location as only a short drive to the beach and the New Forest .

Disliked: Not a dislike but future growth idea, To provide a little shop for essentials and sweet so we don’t need to leave site for top ups etc

Local attractions

Work your way outwards, starting with the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes’ drive) and the Romantic-style Highcliffe Castle (five minutes). The beach has access to the beach and a nature reserve, but for more cool habitats and wild animals, Hengistbury Head (20 minutes) should also be on your radar. Milford on Sea (15 minutes) is also just over the way. There, you’ll certainly get your watersports fix. There are ferries to Hurst Castle, an artillery fort at sea with links to the formidable Henry VIII. Further along the coast is the sailing hub of Lymington (20 minutes). To the north, your New Forest adventures might include the Go Ape course and cycling trails in the Moors Valley Country Park & Forest (half an hour). To the south, perhaps a big day out in Bournemouth (25 minutes), where surfing, kayaking and cycles on the prom might keep you occupied?
