  • Wildlife haven with easy access to London
  • Close to whitewater rafting, bike and walking paths
  • London travel cards available to buy
In a wildlife haven among the traffic-free trails of the 1,000-acre River Lee Country Park – and all only 40 minutes by train from central London: have a stay at Greater London's Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone to escape the city for a weekend, or to use the site as a nifty rural base for getting into the urban for day trips. (Either way, do take quite a bit of time to get around the country park for ambling, pedalling and wildlife watching among its rare resident species). Lee Valley Campsite has a play area, a shop selling essentials and one-day travel cards for London, a launderette with ironing facilities, and heated showers and toilet blocks. Dogs are welcome. The site also has free wifi – just the ticket when researching which museum or shopping area to get to in London first...?

What customers say

Great spot near London with handy public transport. Staff are tops, facilities mostly clean and tidy. A peaceful escape, though some found facilities a bit tired and had minor cleanliness niggles.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Easy location, clean site, friendly staff (didn’t catch her name but reception lady was very helpful), close to shops/pubs/parks, nice walking trails and considering it was full of children and felt busy, the layout prevented tonnes of noise which was nice

Disliked Only downside was showers were cold past 8pm on the Friday, not sure if a normal thing or just cause we was last in haha

Cocoon camping pod (pet friendly, double)

Liked I really loved the cocoon. Was very cozy, and it felt warm and safe.
I like that we have shower facilities not far from our room.
For the price, the noice of the cars are understandable, and you get used to. Also it is very closed to any part of London, so it is great if you do not want to much hassle traveling.
Great for short stays too as commuting is short, and there is a bus that leaves you in the gate.

Disliked Our cocoon was too close from the main road. Which is okay if you ware inside the cocoon with the windows closed, but if you go in summer will be slightly hot.

Cocoon D camping pod (no pets, double)

Liked Lovely quiet clean site. Stayed in a cocoon. Comfortable double bed. Felt safe and secure being a solo female. Nice little table and 2 chairs with a kettle and plenty of tea/coffee milk and sugar for the morning. Showers and toilets were clean. Nice warm water. Situated very close for getting on the M25. No traffic noise was heard. Great helpful staff who explained everything and gave me a map to find my way around. Pub very close by. Would stay again for sure :-)
