  • In a secluded valley between Battle and Hastings
  • Wildlife haven: spot badgers, foxes, deer, rabbits, owls and hedgehogs
  • Fishing lake, dog trail, coffee shop, adventure play and wardens 24hrs
As you might guess from the name, Bluebell Coppice Park is a woodland site. But you’ll need to stop for a sec and have a look at the site pics to get a full sense of just how scenic and well maintained it is: expect tall trees, carpets of spring bluebells, excellent facilities and wildlife all around. The park is in a secluded East Sussex valley between Battle and Hastings, deep in 1066 Country and with pitches surrounded by the owners’ private woodland. Look out for species of all sorts during your stay here: the woods are home to – among many others – foxes, rabbits, badgers and squirrels; woodpeckers, owls, buzzards and bats; mice, voles and hedgehogs; grass snakes and slow worms; dragonflies and damsonflies… and plants of all sorts including ferns, orchids, foxgloves and wood anemones. A small coarse fishing lake is also on site (look out here for mallards and moorhens) and there’s a dog-friendly trail for further walks in the woods. Once you’ve exhausted all those options, amble over to the coffee shop for refreshments, then – if the kids have any energy left – over to the adventure play area (it’s suitable for all ages of kids, but parental assistance may be needed for the very young). Pitching is in three fields: the biggest one with the amenities block (newly extended and renovated in 2019 ); the second with the fishing lake, and the third in a woodland area suitable for tents. All guests have access to the amenities block with separate disabled facilities, as well as free hot water available 24 hours a day, and acovered washing-up area. Wardens are on site at all times. And when you’re venturing off site? If you’re not sure where to make for first, the well-stocked tourist information point should supply some tips: you could, for example, have days in Hastings, Battle, Rye, more Sussex seaside towns, nearby nature reserves, the High Wealds, Sussex vineyards, Sussex castles…

Liked: LOVED the warm showers, toilet cubicles and dish washing area. The couple who own this place have thought of everything!

The staff are so helpful and go above and beyond to make your stay as easy as possible which is wonderful when traveling with small children. Thank you for bringing down our clean (and then dried) washing to our tent! <3

Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: The site was excellent. We received a warm welcome and couldn’t have asked for more.

We were fortunate to get a private bathroom with which was clean and the shower hot and powerful.

Good play area for children, and the enclosed woodland was great for letting the kids explore.

We weren’t able to get on the free WiFi, but that wasn’t a big issue as we were on holiday.

Would definitely recommend.

Disliked: The honesty system for the coffee shop was a bit of a hassle as we had a long wait to find a member of staff at check out - the Ring doorbell was out of battery.
Free WiFi was advertised but we could only find the paid for WiFi.

Liked: Lovely surroundings in a woodland. Pitch was nice and level with parking next to it. Everything layed out perfectly. Very welcoming hosts and others on site all very friendly. Perfect shower, toilet and shower blocks. Very clean and nice hot water. Washing up station. Little cabin with dvds and washing machines and ice creams and drinks. Lovely walk through the woodlands. Little field for kicking the ball about and little playground. Kids got to meet some other kids which was nice. Hired fire pit and bought logs and kindling snd most importantly marshmallows! Would defiantly return. There are options to rent bell tents and we have their own bathrooms. So all very established and well run. Would defiantly return.

Disliked: Nothing. Would have loved a table tennis table !

Liked: Really nice site in a quiet location. The pitches are a good size with plenty of room for our van and awning. We also had a private toilet and shower on our pitch. This was very useful. They were clean and functional. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the barn on the Saturday night and the food was good and reasonably priced. We only stayed two nights nights but would recommend it and would return without hesitation.

Disliked: WiFi was chargeable.
