  • Cosy log cabin in peaceful countryside near Pilling in Lancashire
  • Half an hour’s drive to Blackpool; 25 minutes’ walk to Pilling Sands
  • Fully equipped kitchen, underfloor heating, private patio and garden
Cosy accommodation with bags of living space and lovely warm underfloor heating. A quiet location on a working farm. And only half an hour’s drive to Blackpool. That's a full three cheers for Chestnut Lodge, a traditional log cabin on a working farm on the outskirts of Pilling in Lancashire. Inside the fully accessible lodge, all is comfy and cleverly laid out to maximise space: it's got an open-plan dining and living area with TV, and there's loads of storage space for all your gear. The kitchen has a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher – in short, everything you need to conjure up meals for family or friends. There's also a utility room with a small freezer and washing machine. Surrounded by open fields, the lodge has its own private garden and patio. From there, you can watch the cattle quietly grazing in the neighbouring field as you sip a glass of something or other… But cows are not the only animals you’re likely to encounter. The resident owls frequently fly past the lodge at dusk, and Pilling Sands (25 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive) is a birdwatcher’s heaven, especially in winter when thousands of pink-footed geese and whooper swans come in to feed. Please note that even though Chestnut Lodge is close to many attractions like the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland, a car is essential for getting about from this quiet rural property – there’s free parking in the private drive on site.
