Liked: Great pitches. Good location for walks

Disliked: Only one gents toilet, one ladies toilet and only one shower. Needs to be more for the size of site. Constant droning noise from a nearby factory all night. Site is opposite to a sewerage plant, to be fair didn’t notice the smell.

Liked: Christine, the host, was very friendly and welcoming.Location of the site was excellent. Convenient for the town and plenty of walks - particularly enjoyed walking along the canal.

Disliked: Only improvement we could suggest is to have a dedicated grey water disposal point.

Powered grass and earth caravan site

Liked: We loved everything about this gorgeous little site. Christine was lovely, so welcoming. The facilities were cleaned numerous times a day, nice hot shower. Clean toilets. My children loved it at Bridge Holme Caravan and Camping as they had so much room to run and play. They also loved the calves and alpacas. The Indian takeaway which delivers to the site was fantastic, delicious food and great value for money. Thank you for a lovely holiday we will definitely be returning again soon.

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and enough hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau. If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away. Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
