What customers say
This well-kept, peaceful spot has a ripper riverside location & a legend owner. Spacious, flat sites, many with tables & fire pits. Spotless loos & showers. Easy walk to the village pubs & shops, or hit the Cumbria Way. Top value, highly recommended.

Fantastic camp site, well provisioned, level pitches and great owners.
Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Location - close to the village, which has a few shops, a pub, cafe and milk farm. There are lots of walks and good cycle routes nearby and its very peaceful at the site. Smaller camp site, with level pitches, which was perfect.
Facilities - there is a wash shed for cleaning your dishes, the toilets and showers are very clean, well stocked and maintained.
Staff - very friendly and accommodating.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Absolutely fantastic, such a lovely campsite, facilities are brilliant and the shower was amazing 😍 site is very well kept and the owners are friendly and there when needed. WE stayed for 3 nights very good value with electric and pitch comes with a picnic bench and firepit which we made use of. Although a public path runs through the campsite it was mainly walkers/hikers doing the Cumbria way passing through. There is a small village with a little shop, a pub and petrol pump would definitely recommend and will definitely return .

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked We had a great stay at Caldbeck. The welcome was friendly and the arrival instructions were clear, which made settling in easy. The pitch was a good size, facilities were well maintained, and phone signal was reliable. The surrounding walks were lovely, and the village is charming.
A couple of minor issues: some dogs weren’t kept on leads, and a few people didn’t stick to the site speed limit. Overall, a really enjoyable campsite that I’d happily return to.

One for a revisit some time in the future.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Nice location within a charming village. Good base for exploring a very beautiful area of Northern England. Clean loos, and showers. Away from noisy main roads. Great value for money. Friendly site owners. Dog friendly. Motorcyclist friendly. Little shed for washing the dishes. Very well organised site.
Disliked Noisy Skoda owning selfish campers that repeatedly slam their car door before 6am in the morning. But that is most certainly not the site owners fault, but I just wanted to get it off my chest!
