Liked: Everything. Site was immaculate, the pub was amazing, and the toilet blocks/ washrooms were exceptional. I suppose If i was being really picky, I'd have stayed further up the site, not quite as close to the bar. Nothing a windbreaker wouldn't sort. To be honest it really didn't bother us. I would 100% return to Pennine View.
Disliked: Nothing at all

Arrived as camping novices without an electric hook up .. met by a happy smiling face and allowed to use their cable free of charge 🙏 the pitch was flat the site layout was good the bar area was fab and the same price as everywhere else. The toilets and showers with free hot water were impeccable. Highly recommended

Liked: Location: In walking distance of Kirkby Stephen and lots of walking routes. There's a field and access to the river just off the site too which is great for a quick dog walk or a little stroll with the kids.
Facilities:
Probably the best shower blocks we've used on a campsite! The main blocks have been refurbished and theres also a family shower room which was great when travelling with a little one! The small blocks on the grass pitches aren't as new but the water was always hot and they were really clean.
The camping kitchen is a great idea- nice to be able to wash the dishes/cook/eat inside if needed and handy for anyone backpacking with a small tent.
Play area is nice to have on site too!
The Engine Room is a lovely little bar and has different food vendors there each night which is great if you've had a long day and want an easy tea! We had food on our first night from the Flatbread Kitchen- felt it looked really nice but was pricey for the quality (£27 for a burger, chicken flatbread and chips).

Liked: The site is amazing
When it's full it still seems empty as you have so much space with your pitch size
The shower block is extremely clean and very well maintained as well as the toilets and smells very nice and clean
There is a pub on site which is also very nice, it's an old coach house which is very open and airy. The beer and food is very reasonably priced.
The staff are so very helpful and extremely lovely people. Very knowledgeable about there surroundings.
Very animal friendly
Overall 11 out of 10
You do definitely need to book in advance
