Amazing campsite with animals
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Loved the area, drive to congleton, animals on site (alpacas, peacocks, ducks, and in the glamping area they have meerkats, wallabies). Really low key area, nice view over a city, easy to drive on and pitch up. Pete was so friendly and kind. Would definitely come back!! Very impressed with the toilets - there was never any bad smell. Showers there and you can rent a fire pit and buy fire logs, kindling and fire starters. 11/10!
Highly recommend for a simple peaceful camp.

Liked I loved this camp site, the toilets were very clean and eco friendly, the showers too, also hot water for washing up.
The site it's self is beautiful peaceful with amazing views, great for hiking or just relaxation.
Peter the manager was so helpful and always smiling, I felt very safe as a solo traveller. There is some intresting history in the area itself, and in the middle of the field is an old prayer stone. There are some breathtaking view points for sunrise/sunset.
The Alpacas in the field where just gorgeous and very friendly.
Would highly recommend this camp site and will be visiting here again.

Liked Fantastic stay yesterday! Owners were away However the wonderful Peter could not have been more helpful! Genuinely loves his job and the campsite. The free roaming animals are a wonderful source of entertainment. Toilets and showers were so clean and fresh! It’s worth noting they are compost toilets however there were no issues and did not smell at all. Would highly recommend the site, the views are glorious. Thank you again to Peter for making us feel so welcome. We will be back 😁

Liked A very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, With amazing views, and very helpful staff. If Pete can help you with anything he will. Travelling on my own I loved the covered meeting area, and as a result I've meet some great people from all over the UK. The Alpacas and peacocks have given me some great photos.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked As a couple new to camping, we found this site offered everything we needed — easy access, well-maintained grassy pitches, clean toilets and showers, and a warm welcome. Alongside alpacas, ducks, and a peacock on site, there were sheep in the adjacent fields and plenty of birds darting about, adding to the charm.
At the site entrance, there's a path leading to a short hike where you can enjoy stunning views of the sunset or sunrise over the impressive landscape. At night, the distant lights from nearby towns created a lovely ambiance. The path loops back around the site, passing through a wooded area and then alongside the sheep field. It was a short, manageable walk — just right for fitting in a hike, setting up camp, and still having enough energy to cook a meal.
The other campers we spoke to were polite and friendly, and everyone respected each other’s space — we never felt cramped. Periodically, the site manager made rounds to check in and offer fire pits, which are available for purchase on-site.
We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return visit!

Liked A hidden gem – We didnt want to leave!
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this campsite on Saturday night. From the moment we arrived, Peter the caretaker made us feel so welcome. His friendly, happy nature and genuine willingness to help set the tone for our entire visit – he’s truly a gem.
One of the most delightful surprises was the free-roaming alpacas and peacocks – it felt like stepping into a peaceful little paradise. They added so much charm and character to the experience, and we loved watching them wander freely.
The facilities were spotless – the toilet and shower blocks were immaculate, well-maintained, and clearly cared for with pride. It made the stay feel comfortable and even a bit luxurious by camping standards!
Overall, a magical spot with a great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and outstanding hospitality. We’ll definitely be back – thank you, Peter, for making our stay so special!
