  • Well-maintained and peaceful campsite on a South Yorkshire farm
  • In a small village 15 minutes’ drive from Yorkshire Wildlife Park
  • Grass pitches; wildlife on site; fishing and golf 20 minutes’ drive
When what you want is a bit of peace on a rural South Yorkshire hideaway, you’re covered with a stay at Pond Farm Campsite in the small, rural and friendly village of Graizelound. It's a 25-minute drive from the shops, restaurants, racecourse and cinema of lively Doncaster. As you’ve probably guessed from the name, the pitches are on a working farm, and there are gorgeous countryside views to take in wherever you look. Keep your eyes peeled when on site for local wildlife too, including brown hares in spring, elusive deer and birds of prey. Dogs are welcome here, so bring them along to share in your ambles along quiet lanes bordering the River Trent straight from the pitches. Simple and well-maintained facilities on the spacious and level camping field include a dedicated waste-removal area, drinking water and a no-frills loo. Barbecues are permitted on site, and you can buy grilling supplies from the convenience store in nearby Haxey (five minutes).

What customers say

Friendly, spacious spot with clean facilities, perfect for kids. Owners are super welcoming! Lots of folks planning a return. Good value, though toilets are basic & a bit of road noise. Relaxed vibes, plenty of room to park up.

Liked There is 11 years age difference between my 2 children was both happy; on our first night we didn’t arrive till 9pm due to work, our air bed pump was playing up, the nearest large supermarket 10 mile away. The owner and his daughter came and did all our air beds and lifted the stress with laughter.
The burger van and Icecream van made the kids weekend.
The boys went fishing one of the days and the camp site staff knew lots about the area for me to do with the little one.

Will be returning.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Lovely, friendly campsite. Plenty of space. Level pitches. Regularly spaced stand pipes for drinking water.

Disliked Only two toilets (1 male , 1 female) and one shower is not enough for the number of pitches.

From the manager: We are working on making this and plans are in place for more showers and toilets to be fitted. This does take time but Thankyou for the review and feedback

Power optional grass site

Liked Lovely flat pitches, no restriction on size and Gary was always on hand to help. Fresh eggs delivered to your tent was also a bonus! The location was fab as you are on the border of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire!

Disliked Limited facilities. Be aware only 2 loos and 1 shower.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Very friendly welcome, clean and tidy site, facilities including toilet, shower, and pot wash available.

Liked the pop up shop/cafe on Saturday, great coffee with other campers enjoying burgers etc .

Quiet atmosphere, very quiet when the sun went down, with campers sitting around the fire. The site had fire 🔥 pits and logs 🪵 available.

Disliked Would like further toilet facilities

Power optional grass site

Liked Really lovely campsite owners and staff.
I travelled with my 2 children one young and a teenager, also with a friend and her 2 girls where we could pitch next to each other. Large plots and electric hook up.
Access to toilets and a shower room, easy enough to get in on the morning, evenings a little busier but no one was rushing around so was not a problem. The guys who take care of the site (owner and staff) could not do more for you. They have fire logs, kindling and eggs on site and always on hand should you need anything.
The climbing frame in the middle of the tent field was an added bonus for the kids and kept them all occupied.
There are other fields should you not want to be near the kids playing but this was brilliant especially with a 3 year old who wanted to join in the fun.
Little drives out, Epworth has lots of coffee and cake shops, whereas Gainsborough a 15/20 min drive has lots more to explore. Local pub less than a mile a way and a coop too.
We will definitely return soon.

Local attractions

Days out with the kids will probably include Yorkshire Wildlife Park (15 minutes’ drive), where you can take walking safaris through a reserve that’s home to big cats, zebras and giraffes, while younger children will adore the cheeky meerkats, wallabies and ostriches at Messingham Zoo (half an hour). Further afield, there are sharks and rays to admire at The Deep (50 minutes). There’s plenty to keep you all active and entertained in the fresh air too, with a couple of golf courses and fishing lakes being within 20 minutes’ drive, and track days at Blyton Park Race Track (25 minutes) to keep petrol heads happy. Hit a rainy day? Head for Doncaster (25 minutes), where there’s a cinema, vintage planes in the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum and a heady mix of heritage steam trains and contemporary art at the futuristic Danum Gallery, Library and Museum. Weather cleared up again? Back a winner at Doncaster Racecourse, host of the St Leger Festival in September and with racing all year round.
