  • Off-grid woodland camp experience in rural Northumberland
  • A 10-minute drive from Prudhoe and 20 minutes from Hadrian's Wall
  • Wild site for campfire cooking, wildlife watching and forest bathing
Need some time away from modern life? The aptly named Go Wild Again, in the Northumberland countryside about 10 minutes’ drive from Prudhoe, could be the place for you. This wild-style camping site is set in just under seven acres of deciduous woodland, with pitches tucked into quiet little grassy glades among the trees. There’s no electric connection here and no wifi, so its a great place to ditch the doomscrolling and instead fill your time forest bathing, meditating or just hanging out in a hammock and staring up into the treetops. There’s no public right of way here so the place feels completely private and you'll have plenty of space to switch off and tune into nature. You won't see many people around the site, but you may well spot some wildlife: foxes, deer and badgers roam the woodland, with buzzards and red kites flying overhead. A stay here makes a great adventure for all ages – there’s a swing on one of the oak trees for the kids, and you can all climb up to a lookout tower in another for views across the woodland canopy. A bit of campfire cookery can be on the cards too, as the ‘base camp’ area has a communal firepit designed for cooking as well as keeping you warm in the evenings. Life here is almost exactly as nature intended, but you will have access to a compost toilet in the woodland so no pit-digging will be required. When you want to venture back into the outside world again, you’ll be able to choose from various days out – perhaps heading to Hadrians’s Wall, visiting National Trust sites or experiencing a complete change of scenery in nearby Newcastle upon Tyne.
