What customers say
A top spot for adults wanting a peaceful, private getaway with ripper views. Facilities are spotless, pitches are great, and it's ideal for walks, rides, and stargazing. WiFi can be a bit patchy, and watch out for mozzies.

Fantastic new year stay.
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Lovely small well kept site. Toilet block is a beautiful timber built building throughout with stone underfloor heating. The showers are huge, they run until you press the button to stop them and none of your stuff gets wet off the shower spray as they must be at least 10ft long. The washer, dryer and sink for dish washing are also housed in the block so no standing outside in the cold and wet.
Picked our pitch overlooking the village and reservoir on arrival only x3 other vans on the site. Beautiful views of the valley, forest and looking north westerly towards the Scottish hills.
As it's name implies the skies were totally clear on both nights we stayed, so quite a bit of stargazing was done in between jumping back into the van to thaw out.
Great walks right from your van and cycle tracks. A nice walk along the forest track you drove in on brings you to the castle and Kielder Tavern. I had a couple of very nice pints of Bellhaven stout, my wife had pinot grigio, she went for the chicken burger with chips and I had the cheese burger. Both really good portioned homecooked meals just what was needed after a hike along the resorvoir(But best to ring ahead to check when pub will be open, due to seasonal changes).
We love coming here and will definitely be back.
Disliked Some people might not like that the WiFi is very limited. I personally enjoyed escaping from it. My wife is with Tesco mobile and had signal everywhere during our stay.

Lovely small quiet site with excellent facilities
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Beautiful little site with excellent facilities, quiet and friendly. The showers were huge and warm with washing up and toilets in the same hut and also a washer and dryer if needed. Pitches were huge and flat, the views were fantastic. Plenty of walking straight from the site in the forest and a pub at the bottom of the road (we didn’t go in as it was closed). We really switched off for a couple of days and couldn’t have asked for any more. Jackie is lovely and made sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. Always available on her mobile phone. We liked how effortless this site was and will 100% return.
Disliked Absolutely nothing!

Liked Clear Sky is a beautiful little site, with amazing views and excellent facilities!! If you're looking for somewhere quiet, with walks on the doorstop and the most amazing spot to stargaze then Clear Sky is it 😍 toilet and shower facilities are excellent, absolutely spotless, lovely and warm, even on those cold winter days. Would definitely return for a longer stay (I didn't get clear skies each night thanks to all the cloud but I know it'd be amazing)!

Brilliant ‘away from it’ site with excellent facilities.
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Small site which we love, with generous good quality hard standing pitches, amazing view. EHU and water at the pitch.
The shower block was exceptional - clean throughout, spatious shower rooms with push on push off water (rather than the tedious timed water taps!). Built from locally sourced timber which was good to know, it was obvious great thought and care had gone into building it.
Little telephone or data signal but clear warnings about this when booking so no issues and we didn’t come to the site to be on grid, but there was just enough signal so as assured could be contactable in an emergency.
Ate at the local pub, 15 mins walk, food was standard pub fare but really tasty. Great walking out of the site. Will be booking again.
Disliked Just once when couldn’t get hot water to wash up but shower was warm
/hot on another occasion and we just boiled the kettle for the washing up, so no problem.

Liked Fantastic site, stunning views and we liked having the option to choose your pitch on arrival. Shower block is great- spotlessly clean log cabin style, all locally sourced material from the forest. Owner super friendly and helpful.
Disliked Nothing….apart from the great British weather! Sadly no stars visible due to heavy cloud! Nothing to dislike about the site, we loved it!
