  • Family-run touring park five minutes' drive from Snaith
  • Within 45 minutes' drive of attractions in Leeds, York and Hull
  • Easy access to M62, M18 and A1; pub with a small beer garden on site
Get set to get busy – family-run touring site Apple Blossom Caravan and Camping Park, 15 minutes’ drive from Goole, is in a cracking East Yorkshire location for lots of days out. This handy spot is surrounded by quiet countryside but within easy reach of several main roads (including the A1, M18 and M62 – good news for straightforward arrivals and departures too). It’s also within easy reach of the market town of Snaith, a five-minute drive away for pubs, a deli, a chippy and a small supermarket. Those excellent road connections mean that a whole swathe of the north east becomes doable for day trips: shopping days in Leeds, ambles on the Shambles in York and coming face to face with underwater critters at The Deep in Hull are all around a 45-minute drive away. Snaith’s also got a train station if you fancy abandoning your wheels for the day. If you’re more in the mood for country pursuits, take a wander on the nature trail that passes the site, play a round of golf 10 minutes’ drive away, or bring bikes to pedal off on the network of cycle paths nearby. Apple Blossom Caravan and Camping Park is not a party site, but instead a family site. There’s plenty of space to recuperate after whatever activity you selected, including a pub with a small beer garden on site. Pitches are sizeable and well marked out, allowing for outdoor seating, barbecues, firepits and chimineas (these last few on a hard surface please, to avoid scorching the well-tended grass). Nippers can let off steam at the play park in the meadow (it's designed for under-12s and open from 10am to 8pm each day; kids must be supervised at all times).

Liked: The size of the pitch was great and the park and bar was brilliant. Friendly staff and very welcoming.

Disliked: The shower wasn’t the best. The pressure was low and went hot and cold then just drizzled out. I think they’re in the process of getting new showers though.

Meadow unpowered grass tent site (wild)

Liked: The camp site was amazing. From the lovely welcome we received, to the pub and the little onsite coffee hut. The toilet were very clean as was the site. There was also a pizza and pancake van the night we stopped which was an added bonus. It was perfect for the kids with the play area and football pitch. Definitely will go back!

Meadow unpowered grass tent site (wild)

Liked: This was our second stay at Apple Blossom and we loved it as much as our first time. We always received a warm friendly welcome from Lisa who informs us of everything that's going on during our stay. The campsite is limited in the amount of pitches which makes it for a much more relaxed atmosphere. There is sufficient facilities for us to enjoy our stay and they are well maintained. There is a football field and park which is popular with our children and the park is closed at 8pm which helps us settle them down. There is a great bar open on the evenings with a good selection and has games to play. There are food vans on certain nights which are good. We always try to get in the quiet area of the meadow and always have a enjoyable and relaxing stay at Apple Blossom.

10-amp powered grass site

Liked: Lovely site with very generous pitches. Little shop for essentials and a great bar onsite. Food vans that come on site are good and reasonably priced. Toilets and showers clean and tidy. Nice little park for young kids and football nets.

Disliked: No wi-fi. Could do with more showers as there is only one. Dogs from nearby houses barking quite a lot, especially into the night when trying to get to sleep.

From the manager: Hi there, thank you so much for the feedback we really appreciate it. There are 2 showers that you can use, it seems a few people miss the 2nd shower I will be sure to point it out more often. We are in the process of building 2 more as we are aware in busy times its needed . Unfortunately we cannot do anything about the wifi the area we are located in is a black spot and drives us mad too as you can imagine as soon as its available we will be on it i promise :-). The neighbours dogs............... not sure how to comment on that one we have asked politely for it to be addressed. Thank you for staying with us. all the best Lisa and Dean xx

Meadow unpowered grass tent site (wild)

Liked: It’s an ok venue but not really if you enjoy traditional camping and a bit of quiet.

Disliked: Only two male toilets for quite a large campsite and only one shower. Very exposed site so your tent gets a battering when it’s windy. Kids going around your tent at night. There was this guy who must of assumed that the entire campsite shared his taste in music and self appointed himself as camp DJ!

From the manager: Hello there Thank you for your feedback. We read all reviews and grow the site based on all construstive reviews, the good the bad and the ugly. However I wanted to reply to this feedback asap just to correct some little inaccuracies if I may. During your stay in our 2acre meadow there were only 7 tents and with 9 children in the age range uo to 11. I wardened the site and no chiden were out past 10 and no noise was made quite the opposite, so Im unsure where this comments has come from ? Please refer to the other reviews for clarification of the same. For the facilitis on whole site, we have.... 5 male cubiles and 5 urinals not inculding the family bathroom. there are 2 showers. There are also 5 ladies cubiles not including the family bathroom and 2 showers. Apologies if the reply seems a little 'kurt' I do intend for it to be, but please leave facts honestly. Your thoughts and opionions are however are your freedom of how you feel and I respect those no matter what. All the best Lisa and Dean

Local attractions

York (40 minutes’ drive) is always a good choice for a day out: experience the sights and smells of days of yore at the Jorvik Viking Centre, see the old trains at the National Railway Museum or take a wander around the city centre, visiting the minster and taking a walk on the Shambles. Intrigued by a tempting sweet smell? That could well be the lure of York's Chocolate Story, where you can learn about its history and see professional chocolatiers in action. Shopaholics and cultured types will always find plenty to keep them busy over in Leeds (45 minutes), and those who can’t get enough of the natural world should aim for outings to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (35 minutes), and Hull’s excellent aquarium The Deep (45 minutes). Ready for a rural day? Take walks locally or ride bikes to meet the friendly animals that live at Bankend Tearoom (20 minutes’ walk) or stroll into Snaith (an hour) to take a tour of Old Mill Brewery and sample some of its fine wares.
