Disliked The pub/ club house it closed at 6pm. We only walked over at 5.30 and could only have one drink as it was closing

Liked Fantastic what a great place, the amenities were like new, staff excellent.
We went to the swallows for breakfast and they were so accommodating with us as we had a puppy.

A great place for peace and quiet.
Powered grass caravan site
Liked We loved the peace and quiet - a great place to unwind and get away from it all. No Wi-fi which was a bonus so you can really unplug. The toilet, shower and washing up block looked very new, was clean and tidy and there was plenty of hot water. I liked the fact you could just choose your pitch rather than having one allocated. There is a woodland adjacent to the campsite which was great for walks and cycling - saw hares and deer. A good base to explore the area - looking forward to returning next year!

Absolute gem of a find
Powered grass caravan site
Liked The pitches are well spaced and well kept overall beautiful site.
Having a golf course was a big bonus being golfers, the course is short but again well maintained with some interesting challenging holes.
Being our second visit we weren’t disappointed and will certainly be back.

Quiet, tidy, secure site with level pitches, and clean facilities.
Powered grass caravan site
Liked A very nice well maintained site, mature hedges and trees between pitches. Clear instructions for checking in sent in advance. Dog walk from the site in adjacent woods was great. Easy access - no narrow lanes! Countryside feel but very close to York.
Disliked Not dislikes but just for information: You would definitely need a long cable for EHU for some pitches (this is in the details for the site but don’t hedge your bets!). The facilities aren’t that spacious so could be a problem if the site was busier.

Liked Lovely site, in a peaceful setting. Staff were friendly and checked that everything was ok. Plenty of space between pitches. Shower and toilet block well maintained and clean. Bonus to have the walk into the forest.
Disliked We stopped at the Roost for a drink after our walk, we chose a table outside on the artificial grass as we have a dog and were immediately told that dogs are only allowed to sit on the patio. The patio has two tables both of which were full. We were told we can go for a walk and come back! Needless to say we didn’t bother! The site is dog friendly yet the bar/restaurant isn’t accommodating which was disappointing.
