  • Well-maintained dog-friendly site in the North Yorkshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to the North York Moors; 50 minutes to the coast
  • Access to cycling and walking routes; pub and shops nearby
Pack your walking boots, gather your cycling gear and don’t forget your binoculars for the family-friendly Cherry Tree Park. Sitting cosily between the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors, this well-maintained family-friendly site is well based for walks and cycling through moors and forests or visits to historic halls and castles nearby… simply put, the hardest task will be plotting out your route, as this level-grounded base is a peaceful walker’s paradise. If you can’t bear to leave your dog behind, it's good to know that dogs and pets are welcome on site. For walkies time, take full advantage of the local footpaths – there are several cycling and walking routes nearby (along with more adventurous tracks between the trunks at Dalby Forest, 45 minutes’ drive). And handily, the coast is also within reach. So, if you have a taste for the pleasures of seaside (within 50 minutes’ drive), you can dedicate a day to the beach and harboursides. At the end of the day, freshen up using the toilet and shower block on site (there's an extra water point on hand if you need it). For eating out, there’s a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant and a pub within 10 minutes’ walk. And for anything else you need, the market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside have more amenities within five minutes’ drive.

What customers say

Well-kept, quiet campsite with roomy, flat sites and great hosts. Clean loos and showers, but some reckon more's needed when busy. Handy spot for sights. A few heard dogs barking, some found sites or facilities a bit close/grubby. Good value, lots would come back.

Liked Goods sized pitches. Small shower and toilet block which was kept clean. Was very peaceful. The village pub was a 5 minute walk and food was great. Close to Helmsley and Pickering. It's a lovely site.

Liked The pitches were very spacious, probably some of the biggest pitches i've seen on a site. Plenty of space in the middle of the campsite as well for ball games etc for the kids. Easy check in process. The site itself was nice and peaceful and very well maintained. Toilets and showers were as clean as you'd expect from a campsite toilet and shower. The shower was also very warm water which was nice after a day of walking. Great positioning as well for drives out to nearby villages and walks.

Disliked Limited showers and toilets. Two showers for all staying on the site. When we stayed the site was quiet but we still struggled for shower access. Also the showers do cost which is just another thing to have to think about.

Liked Ive camped here a few times now and they are really friendly helpful & caring!
Whilst there on Saturday we had a medical emergency where the North Yorkshire Air Ambulance attended along with a road ambulance.
This site could not have done more to help and support us at the time of need, allowing us to leave vehicles and caravans on their pitches for as long as required, all been well we were released from hospital and they even sent us a follow up text message this morning checking all is ok!!
Massive Thank You to all of the support at Cherry Tree!!

Liked What did I liked about this site it asks. What about the fact i needed a air ambulance for my child who couldnt breathe and not only did the site accomodate the landing the information sheet on arrival gave me all the location infomation i needed for it to be there within 6 minutes.

The staff also told someone from my group straight away to not worry about my set up even though it was departure day but to leave it for however long was needed.

Luckily it wasnt needed however they will never understand the help this was to a mother of a 4 year old suffering anaphylaxis. This allowed me the time to focus on my son and come up with alternative arrangements.

I will 100000% revisit this site with the knowledge that in any unfortunate events that occur they are kind considerate and accomodating.

Thank You so much to you all from Me and Hendrix

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Great location for exploring the North York Moors. Only one other tent there each night we stayed so felt like our private campsite. Lovely hot showers. Nice dog friendly pub in walking distance.
