Liked: We liked absolutely everything about our stay, from Anna's phone call before we arrived to give us more detailed directions to alpaca selfies, bunny cuddles and everything in-between. It was a much needed time away from phones and tablets to get some fresh air and spend some quality time together. Anna was an amazing host that could not do enough for us. The bell tent was beautiful and spacious with everything you could possibly need for a night away. The kids (9 and 6) loved every second and can't wait to go back, which we will definitely be doing next year! Not only have we left with lovely memories and photos but eggs too. Can't recommend enough x

Liked: Our party was a group of 6 with 2 Adults and 4 children aged 6-10. We absolutely loved our stay at Butterwick. 🥰 You have your own private enclosed paddock with a beautiful belle tent, picnic bench, hammock and firepit/BBQ. The belle tent was beautifully decorated with lots of lovely finishing touches and the host had literally thought of everything and provided all that you'd need from cutlery and crockery down to antibac wipes. Anna was really friendly and welcoming and on hand if we needed anything at all. ❤️ Two of the children in our party have SEN and it was so lovely to be able to access such safe, welcoming environment where they felt comfortable and were able to interact with and hand feed the animals at their own pace and leisure. The hammock was a firm favourite and is such a great addition to the paddock. I would highly recommend Butterwick Alpaca Retreat and cannot wait to rebook next year 🦙✨ xx

Liked: This is one of the best places we have camped! The tent is lovely and clean, has all the amenaties you will need for cooking. Anna was lovely in offering to help us with the fire pit when it was windy and even offered directions to local places. The animals are lovely and you can spend time with them, you can also purchase feed for them. There is also lots of wildlife around to watch building nests and interacting with Anna's animals. The location is great, it feels like your a million mile from reality but is about 15 minutes away from town.

Liked: Wow! What an amazing get-away! Anna and Chris go above and beyond to ensure the best possible stay. After meeting them on an Alpaca trek elsewhere, we already had high expectations for our visit. They well and truly exceeded those expectations. Their love of the site, farm and their job really shines through. We had so much freedom to roam the farm, with unlimited access and time with the animals. The accommodation itself was absolutely spotless, and very welcoming. The site itself is so private, being only the one tent on site really added to that extra special feel. We interacted with Alpacas, sheep, rabbits, hens and even a visit from their dogs who are very friendly. The sheep are so friendly running over to say hello and get some fuss. The children went around with Anna on her morning rounds with the animals, really enjoying getting involved. Communication both before and after our visit was exceptional. It really was an all around amazing experience that we will definitely be doing again.

Liked: Absolutely LOVED everything about Butterwick Alpaca Retreat. It’s such a peaceful, calming place to stay. Anna and Chris the owners are such lovely caring humans who make you feel so comfortable. I took my 3, 13 and 14 year olds and each one throughly enjoyed every minute of their stay. We are already planning our next stay! The bell tent is so clean, comfy and large and has everything you need down to kitchenware.

Liked: I booked it as a treat for my daughter's 13th birthday with some of her friends. I have walked the gorgeous alpacas previously, so I was really looking forward to our stay. What a beautiful bell tent with everything you need for cooking, for washing up, comfy bed, blow up bed, BBQ, brew kit, microwave, toaster, seating and electricity. The girls said it was nice and warm in the tent throughout the night and the bed was very comfy. I slept out in the hammock, which was comfortable and relaxing. Anna is just such a lovely person and I love hearing what amazing things she does for others with the animals. The animals are all just absolutely stunning and looked after amazingly. We had a beautiful evening barbecue, went for a walk to say night to all the alpacas and woke up watching the baby cria’s running around playing. I will definitely be coming to stay again and would highly recommend anyone to stay.

Liked: Our stay at the Butterwick Alpaca Retreat in North Yorkshire was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, the tranquil setting and charming ambiance of the retreat made us feel instantly relaxed. The accommodation was cozy, impeccably clean, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. One of the highlights of our visit was, of course, the alpacas and all of the other animals on the site including rabbits, sheep, goats, hens and ducks, and of course the owners friendly dogs. The animals were a joy to be around, and the hands-on experience of feeding and walking the alpacas was both unique and memorable. Anna and Chris were superb hosts, incredibly warm and friendly and knowledgeable and the love they have for their animals is obvious in everything they do. Genuinely lovely people! The retreat also offered plenty of opportunities for leisurely walks and exploration of the picturesque North Yorkshire landscape. Overall, the Butterwick Alpaca Retreat exceeded all our expectations. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature. We can’t wait to return!
