Touring pitch

  • Dog-friendly site with touring pitches on the outskirts of Beverley
  • Hull 15 minutes’ drive; Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo 25 minutes
  • Hardstanding pitches a few minutes' walk away from supermarkets
Beverley: come for the horse-racing, and stay for the excellent walks nearby, the attractions at the redeveloped docks in Hull (15 minutes’ drive), or rugged North Sea beaches (half an hour). And when you do decide to make a weekend (or a week) of it, bring the dog along and stay at Beverley Holiday Park, just on the outskirts of this historic East Yorkshire market town (it’s 10 minutes’ drive from the town centre). Well-kept hardstanding touring pitches at the park are sheltered by mature trees and all have electric hook-ups; there are also modern toilet and shower blocks. The prettily landscaped site stretches over 44 acres with several lakes, so you’ve plenty of options for exercising any accompanying dogs. While there isn’t a shop, you only need to take a five-minute walk along the main road (the A164) to reach a shopping area with two supermarkets, a fast-food restaurant, coffee shop and petrol station. And of course, there are many more shopping (and dining) options in Beverley itself.

What customers say

This developing site has great, clean amenities and is close to Beverley. While staff and atmosphere get a thumbs up, some say pitches aren't ideal for touring caravans/motorhomes. Hot showers cost $4.50. Ongoing building work.

Liked Location to Beverley was great a 25 minute walk to the shops and minster. Friendly welcome and large pitch. Clean and tidy park and facilities. Great opportunity to visit this location and park as a "tourer" before the pitches all become allocated to holiday homes.

Disliked Its brand new and hasn't reached its full potential yet. Looks like expansion in progress in terms of facilities. It would be nice to think that "Tourers" still catered for in the future as I would like to go back.

Liked The new site is in a good position for visiting Beverly and Hull on public transport a short wall away. The staff on reception were very helpful on our arrival and the facilities are very impressive.

Disliked There are no washing up facilities for those in caravans and motorhomes which provide an excellent opportunity for socialising with other campers. This is the only site we’ve ever been on that doesn’t provide them.

Liked Close to Beverley. Able to walk to the town centre

Disliked A bit of a building site. We were only there for one night so we didn’t really mind.
It doesn’t really look like a touring site. We were on a concrete plot that looked ready for a static caravan to be set up

Liked The pitch was perfect. Yes it was on a static pitch bit gave loads of room and place for car and any visitors.
Grass around for children and dogs to graze.
Toilet were immaculate and pond sweet with ducklings in
Male who guided us to our pitch was very friendly and approachable. He didn't really give us much information about site.

Disliked It's not really a dislike they are still busy with building a bar ect so some part building ground. But didn't bother us.
Sure it will look good when done

Liked Close to Beverley race course

Disliked Disappointing stay on a building site. The Campervan pitches were really work in progress, concrete-floored pitches for static caravans and putting up an awning on the grass was not allowed.

Our spot was next to a pond which could’ve been idyllic if it weren’t for the noisy water pump that made relaxing or talking nearly impossible till 9pm. Once that quieted down, the road noise became apparent. At 8am we were woken up by beeping and revving engines of construction vehicles passing our plot.

Because it’s not set up for touring caravans there is no place to wash dishes but the bathroom sink. Showers cost extra, £2,50.

It is understandable that the owners want to create some income while developing the site but the state should be clearly explained during the booking process. Also,£35 a night are not justified for the site as it is right now, £25 would be more appropriate.
We won’t be back.

Local attractions

A jaunt into Beverley’s ancient centre rewards with the Gothic-style minster, cobbled streets lined with indie shops and restaurants, and the lively market on Wednesday and Saturday. Those of you with four-legged companions can give them a run on the sprawling Westwood parkland, and if you fancy a flutter on the horses, Beverley Racecourse (all 10 minutes’ drive) is open for flat racing on selected dates between April and September. Take a dive into the history of Hull (15 minutes) thanks to the Roman mosaics and Iron Age gold hoard found at Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology, or check out the recreated 1940s shops in the Streetlife Museum. When your kids are resistant to culture, you’ll doubtless find yourselves watching sharks and rays circle their aquarium at The Deep (half an hour), and there are also creepy-crawlies to view at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo (25 minutes). If you’d rather observe wildlife in its natural setting, you might get to spot kingfishers and egrets in the wetlands at Tophill Low Nature Reserve (half an hour), or you can walk along the chalk cliffs at Flamborough Outer Headlands Nature Reserve (55 minutes) to watch the grey seal colony basking on the rocks below.
