  • Luxurious glamping lodges with hot tubs on a peaceful site near Durham
  • A 10-minute drive to Diggerland and Durham, and 30 minutes from Kynren
  • Wildlife on site; adventure park and cycle paths a five-minute drive
For a touch of luxury up there in the north-east near Durham, West Hall Glamping has certainly got you covered. What with well-equipped wooden lodges, a hot tub outside each one and a location in lush green farmland, what more could you ask for? Well, the site is nearly a mile off a country lane, so you don’t hear any traffic noise, and can wake up to the sounds of animals and birdsong, with cows and sheep grazing peacefully nearby. Oh – not forgetting some very friendly hens chirping around too. Each stylish pod is kitted out with a shower room, double bed and sofa bed. There’s a smart kitchen area with fridge and microwave, all the bits and bobs you need to cook for four people, and a table for cosy family suppers. Best of all, they come with underfloor heating to keep you snug and they all have a wifi connection (that’ll stop the kids grumbling) as well as TVs for any rainy days. Outside there’s a private area with table and chairs, plus a firepit for barbecues. There is a car park a short walk away, so the glamping area is safe for children. And with just a handful of pods (and amazing countryside views), you’ll never feel cramped, and you can picnic by the pond or requisition the grassy area for barbecues and games. Teddy the resident Border Collie loves nothing better than playing fetch, and he’d love to welcome all your four-legged friends. There is a public footpath through the site and some spectacular walking routes in the area. You can also access the local cycle path in Witton Gilbert village (five minutes’ drive).
