On arrival i could choose where to pitch…

One of the local footpaths herbie and i discovered 😀

There are limited lights, so would recommend fairy lights inside the tent for coziness.

Nearby middy railway station with running steam trains on sundays. bar and tearoom too.

Good size pitches, big enough for large car and tent

Toilet block well lit at night with 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 washrooms

Unpowered grass site

Liked: We were basically the only people there it was lovely,we felt free, it was peaceful, we have realky busy lives so to switch off from life and just be was really needed,Tony the owner made us feel very welcome we will definitely be back

Powered grass site (large)

Liked: The quiet surroundings was wonderful along with the large pitch size. We had three pitches between three families and it was more than adequate. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and hot water always seemed available even late at night! The play area was adequate for the children along with the football goals!! Having the option of going to the local bar on the Friday was great 👍🏼 The men in the group said the atmosphere was nice and beverages were reasonably priced. I took my dog, and loved the amount of poo bins in the area! We live local so knew about most activities but Tony (owner) had provided some leaflets in the reception phone box for those who may need them. One of our group stayed in the carriage and although basic, said it was comfortable. Their toilet/ shower block was really nice! The WiFi was okay when used. Loved the fact we could do last minute bookings too. Tony was friendly and welcoming! Will def return next year!

Disliked: Couple of suggestions: - a communal freezer would be useful for ice blocks - fire pits would make this an even more pleasant experience especially with the amount of Gnats that came out when the sun went down! Having the option to hire them or bring own fire pits would be wonderful.

Unpowered grass site

Liked: Lovely site, nice and quiet. Spacious pitches. Toilet and shower facilities clean and lovely hot water. Friendly owner who came round to check everything was ok.

Disliked: Would benefit from a small freezer for those without electric to re freeze ice blocks.

Railway Carriage 2 bedroom camping pod (eight person)

Liked: Loved the location, fantastic site. The unique pod style is great. Clean and tidy with good facilities.

Disliked: Only one small thing could be improved, the carriage we stayed in would benefit from a step.

Liked: That actual location, accommodation and facilities were good.

Disliked: Floor of the accommodation was dirty from previous occupants. Each section of the campsite had two showers and toilets, one shower wasn't working on the first night but was on the second night. Directions for booking in (no on site staff, which I knew) was difficult resulting in me calling the site owners twice.

After taking the kids to learn about old-fashioned travel at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum (five minutes' walk), take them off for animal encounters, agricultural insights and pony rides at Easton Farm Park (30 minutes' drive), or venture in the other direction towards Framlingham Castle (30 minutes) for family-friendly adventures on a medieval theme. If you liked that, then Henry II's unusual polygonal tower at Orford Castle (50 minutes) should be right up your street too. A cable measuring at least 8 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Admission

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 1 day(s) of arrival.

General

Bookings must not be for more than 14 consecutive nights.

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
