General

  • Rural site on a small traditional farm, 10 minutes' drive from Reepham
  • Around half an hour's drive from the Norfolk Broads and the coast
  • Dogs and barbecues welcome; pubs within a 10-minute drive

If you’re honing in on a handy spot for travels around north Norfolk, it could be suggested that Mayfields Farm – a quiet site on a small traditional grassland farm in the tiny hamlet of Themelthorpe – is in the best of locations.

And why? Because this park, under 10 minutes’ drive from Reepham, is within 45 minutes of the coast, the Norfolk Broads, stately attractions such as Sandringham and the city of Norwich – in short, all the hotspots for a varied hol in the east of England.

When you’re staying put, there’s also plenty of space on site for spreading out: each of the pitches is large enough for a family-sized tent, campervan or caravan, and has access to a water supply, flushing toilets and phone charging facilities. Bringing along kids that want to really get stuck into their surroundings? Take them over to the education area and they’ll get to know a bit more about country life.

Being a laidback rural kind of place, dogs are also most welcome here, as are barbecues for alfresco meals. Supplies can be picked up in Reepham (which also has pubs for those who’d rather outsource the catering).

If you’re on a hol here for the outdoorsy life, it’s useful to note that the popular Marriott’s Way walking/bike path is a short walk away from the farm.

Excellent place to stay for 3 days or so, very peacefull and beautiful. Very basic but we did not mind it we loved it!!. Felt very safe and relaxed!..the only little downside for us was lack of the showers, however we had a avalibility to go home and than come back, rest days helped by baby wipes;).
The owners have supplied loads of hand sanitisers by each entrance and toilets as well as the hand wash by each water tap.Place for bbq, concrete slab by the tent , great pubThe Crown in nearby Reepham, places to go for a walk, and loads of other options to drive to.
Due to be far from any industrial lights and the pitch beeing on fields the night sky was a picture!! Dont remember seein as much stars for a long time.
    I will definitevly come back!

Lovely remote spot filled with wildlife to explore. Beautiful views and absolutely perfect numbers of people. Very eco friendly too.

    Disliked:

The huge pile of rubbish by the entrance gate and after the games nobody even checked to see if we were alright. We had to report that one of the toilets was a casualty to the wind.

Wide open fields, limited facilities, animals on site. Plenty of space for the children to play without being near anyone else, and they loved the ponies. The compost toilet was all that was needed. We had a great time, and it was good base for exploring the north Norfolk area.
Very basic shower facility but for a 3 day trip, we coped without :-)

More into stately homes than seaside roams? Set off for Sandringham to see Queen Elizabeth’s pad (40 minutes); King’s Lynn (50 minutes) also has a clutch of cool architecture to gaze at, including England’s biggest and best-preserved medieval guildhall.
