  • Tiny and welcoming adults-only motorhome site in Sheringham
  • Half an hour's walk to Sheringham's beach, golf course and promenade
  • Meticulously maintained country cottage garden on site
An adults-only site with a gorgeous cottage garden in a gorgeous countryside location: Mill Cottage is in East Anglia’s spectacular coast-fringed county of Norfolk, in a super sweet spot near the sands and fun town centre of Sheringham. This spot is an easy half an hour’s walk from Sheringham down a hill and through a pleasant wooded land; if you’re driving, you’ll reach the seaside in about five minutes. For when you want to get out to investigate the local area, Sheringham is served by a bus that drives out to Holt in one direction and to Norwich (via Cromer), in the other, as well as a vintage steam railway (also journeying to Holt) – spot on for when you want to leave the rig back at base. The site’s hugely hospitable owner, Charlie, maintains this site rather meticulously (especially its splendidly peaceful and lush gardens) and works extra hard to ensure their guests have everything they need during their stay.

What customers say

This tidy little spot's a peaceful escape with lovely gardens & country views. Owners get kudos for their warm welcome and handy tips. Close to Sheringham and bush walks, though the busy road can be noisy and a bit tricky for walking into town after dark. Basic amenities are spot on, and many guests want to come back.

Liked Very small site for motorhomes/campervan. Good services on site. Use of a lovely garden with little zones and plenty of seating. The garden was the highlight of the stay. Over looking farmers fields but on an road and the traffic died down in the evening

Liked Love this little place, stayed a few times convenient for coast an easy walk into Sheringham and a short hop about 3 miles to Cromer in Van or taxi. Good friendly hosts. Lovely gardens to sit in. Road is busy but it does’t bother us. All services in good order easy to use. Lovely forest walks just over the road.

Liked Pitch was spacious. Everything that we expected. We have our own shower and toilet so a perfect place for us. It’s located on a busy A road but this was not a problem to us at all. A great location for exploring. Sharon and Charley (the owners of the site) were amazing. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and very warm and welcoming. Would definitely go back. Thank you Sharon for the inspiration regarding my paintings

Liked This little site had the most lovely garden to sit in with lots of seating areas. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. It was a nice downhill walk into Sheringham but quite a hill coming back up

Disliked As this site was on a main road there was quite a bit of noise in the day time which some people might not like.

Liked Absolutely brilliant site. No children, no dogs and total peace and quiet. The garden was beautiful and had shady places so we could get out of the heat as it was 30 degrees. Bit of a walk into Sheringham through a woods which was a pretty walk. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here.

Local attractions

Walk into the centre Sheringham in about 30 minutes (or drive in five) for a scenic seaside promenade lined by a row of colourful beach huts (fish and chips and ice cream, anyone?), and stick around to sit among its pubs, cafés and tearooms to scoff locally produced cakes and other tasty morsels. An excellent golf course is here too, or for culture trips, visit its museum and check out the events schedule of the town’s theatre for film screenings and stage shows, music and comedy performances and art exhibitions of all kinds to fill your off-site evenings with. If you’re into the idea of seeing the surrounding countryside from a steam locomotive, the famed North Norfolk Railway, known locally as the Poppy Line, can be hopped on less than a couple of miles from base (in Sheringham town centre) for verily viewsome vintage carriage rides out to Holt, five miles away. Also close to base is the National Trust’s 1,000-acre Sheringham Park – again within half an hour’s walk – where four waymarked routes with distances ranging from one to five miles take you through the park’s smashingly varied habitats, many points along which have spectacular sea views. Felbrigg Hall is also within easy reach by car. Several wild bird sanctuaries are a short drive away too, at the saltmarshes in Cley next the Sea, Blakeney and Salthouse; a little further afield – around 40 minutes’ drive away – the rare wildlife-filled waterways of the Norfolk Broads (the UK’s biggest protected wetland, fact fans) are a prime wildlife spotting and birdwatching spot, as it’s home to more than a quarter of the UK’s rarest species.
