What customers say
Reviewers rave about the spacious, private pitches, often fringed with trees and wildflowers, and the gorgeous, tranquil natural surrounds. Facilities, including communal kitchens and washrooms, are generally found to be clean and well-kept, with many appreciating the thoughtful layout. Glamping options like shepherd's huts and pods get good mentions for comfort and amenities. While most guests found the site quiet, a few noted occasional noise from nearby venues. Some guests initially had minor issues with communication or facility supplies, but the owners are described as friendly and helpful.

It's the morning of my departure…
Dragonfly shepherd's hut
Liked It's the morning of my departure and I don't want to go! I have just had 5 nights in Dragonfly Shepherd's Hut. The bed is very comfy. I woke to birds, the swishing of trees, a cockerel in the distance. A friendly robin has visited up close each day. There was an influx of loads of dragonflies one day hunting for food. Butterflies and peace. The road is very quiet with sporadic cars and farm vehicles so it's a total escape. The hut is well insulated so not too hot or too cold. You have a large secluded space around the hut. It was relaxing to cook outside on the camping stove provided. There's a wooden shelter to cook in. All the utensils and pans etc are provided. The hut is beautifully decorated. The countryside around here is stunning. I walked on nearby footpaths and saw deer, hares and game birds. At Geldeston lock there is a great pub serving food and real ales. The large garden by the river was a special place to hang out on a summer evening. Anissa, Kevin and their kids were lovely. They aren't intrusive, I only saw them twice and had a good chat with them. That was enough to feel they were approachable with any issues but not so much that you felt you were being intruded on. The site has lovely shrubbery and trees separating pitches so you can create space. I will definitely come again.
Disliked It would have 10 stars except for the refrigeration situation. A small mini fridge in the hut would be good. Having to go back and forth to the small under counter fridge for the whole campsite to use felt a bit strange given I'm not in a tent. You have your own bathroom though, which is great. The shepherd's hut is also only suitable for one person or a couple. Just what I needed, but families are encouraged to let their kids explore and be kids. So if you are not travelling with children, the free range kid noise can get a bit much. This isn't the fault of the owners of course. And, on the whole, 9pm to 9am quiet time was mostly respected. But I think some families then took that to mean that they didn't have to be considerate of other guests outside these times. In the future, I will come during term time weekdays to avoid this.

Not been anywhere else like it.
(1) powered grass tent site
Liked If they cleared this site they could easily have 20 pitches and make way more money. Instead they've only got 5 (standard tent pitches), with large, wild borders between them ensuring privacy and lots of nature. Credit to the owners they've chosen this path and instead created something virtually unique.
The shower and toilet facilities are good, as are washing up facilities, plus there is a nice little kitchen provided with a fridge, microwave, electric kettle plus a variety of honesty shop items you can purchase.
Overall it's a perfect combination of nature with a bit of luxury thrown in.
It's also the first time I've given 10 to any site - even the best sites normally have something they could improve but without being deliberately nitpicky, I can't really think of anything here.

EXCELLENT
Daisy unpowered grass tent site (backpacker, no pets, no cars)
Liked This is a truly wonderful place to stay. Private for all campers, with lovely secluded pitches, although only a few minutes from the great kitchen. Imogen and I are cyclists with one small tent, but we felt honoured with the big pitch, a table and two chairs, and to repeat a kitchen with kettle, hob and microwave and fridge.
Excellent loos and showers.
We hope our grand children will have a trip their soon,, so many hedges for hide and seek and a marvellous playhouse.
Very near Beccles. Great location.
Very modest charges. And a charming host. I do hope more cyclists visit.
We hope to return.

Liked Really spacious pitches with excellent facilities in a beautiful and peaceful location. The comunial kitchen and honesty box was a lovely touch.
I really liked the 'green' elements of the site, from the recycling points, eco friendly supplies and the wild flowers that were appearing amongst the numerous trees and hedges.
