There's no need to stress about setting up a tent at Brambles Glamping. Near the village of Wickhamford, this glamping site makes for a highly peaceful and comfortable break in the Worcestershire countryside. With each off-grid unit fitting two people, this is a splendid spot for couples and up to one well-behaved dog, although they also welcome single parents with one child. Owners Glenn and Robert built this site up themselves, adopting an eco-friendly approach to work in harmony with nature, reusing and recycling where possible. The result is cosy accommodation that's off-grid but certainly not lacking in character or comfort. Solar panels and a wind turbine provide the power (with battery storage and a backup generator), and rainwater is treated for washing (you'll be provided with bottled water for drinking…) Each of the units has a proper bed (with bedding), a comfy sofa, a kitchen corner, USB chargers and a stack of games and books. Outside, you'll have your own space with outdoor seating and a firepit/barbecue. Shared facilities include washing-up sinks, a freezer, a ping pong table and a bathroom with solar-heated shower and flushing toilet. Take a look around the four-acre property, and you can see why the owners are so keen to preserve the environment. The glamping units are set around a young orchard of fruit trees, with views out over the surrounding farmland and grassland. Newly planted hedgerows and trees provide an ever-growing habitat for wildlife – keep your eyes peeled for things like bats, badgers and barn owls. This is a rural spot, but it’s also very well placed for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounding area – the centre of Evesham (for pubs, cafés, shops and an indie cinema) is walkable, or you can drive to Broadway in about 10 minutes.

Primrose yurt

Liked Everything was perfect, we stayed in the yurt and it was great, Robert and glen had thought of everything. It was so peaceful and beautiful staying there, especially at night when we made a campfire and there is some good star gazing there. The bed is really comfortable and the yurt was so clean. The bathroom as well was absolutely spotless clean it was like staying in a hotel. The yurt had everything you needed all the cooking equipment, little things that you might have forgotten like foil, kitchen paper etc. it had the bbq skewers for toasting marshmallows, picnic blanket, blankets, games etc. Robert and glen were super friendly and welcoming as well, they were happy to have a chat and advise where to see in the area.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in Primrose yurt and made the most of the campfire and starry nights – it really is a special spot for that. We’re glad you found everything comfortable and well-equipped, and that the little extras came in handy. It was a real pleasure to meet you both and of course "Rocky" our first doggy visitor, we’re delighted you felt welcome. We’d love to host you again anytime!

Local attractions

Exploring this area might mean taking walks – perhaps along the river, to the local pub or to the nearby farm shop – or perhaps taking your time to wander around pretty towns and villages like Broadway (10 minutes’ drive), with its famed tower and Gordon Russell Design Museum, Moreton-in-Marsh (25 minutes) and Bourton-on-the-Water (half an hour). Stratford-upon-Avon (25 minutes) is another great option, to see Shakespeare’s Birthplace and take in a show at the theatre, or you could head to Worcester (40 minutes) to see the cathedral, visit the Museum of Royal Worcester and stroll along the riverbanks. Keeping it all a bit more rural, days out might include National Trust properties Snowshill Manor and Garden (15 minutes) and Hidcote (20 minutes) or a fragrant amble through the colourful fields of Cotswold Lavender (20 minutes). For possible TV celeb spottings, head to Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park (25 minutes) or Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm (40 minutes).
