Disliked: It was through pitch up and that made it difficult to sort out. And more expensive

Powered grass tent site (no pets)

Liked: Given choice of pitch. Large pitch. Close Proximity to Wyre forest.

Disliked: The electric pitch is VERY EXPENSIVE and there are no showers, the outside toilet lacks privacy - has a tiny cold water sink and washing up area is dirty and has no hot running water. Can’t even have a decent wash here! All next to a very busy A road which is relentless with traffic even through the night. A false promise of fresh eggs. Stayed 2 nights- no eggs received. Owner very quick to sell fire pit and wood for £10 which every other camp member seemed to like so there was constant smoke surrounding our tent which was not enjoyable.

Damson unpowered grass campervan site

Liked: A real gem of a site. Farm animals, small pond with fish and on the edge of the Wyre Forest. The rear Whitty Pear tree within walking distance also. Farm eggs also. Hardcore pitches and plenty of grass. Lots of water points.

Disliked: Slight traffic noise from the main road, but this died down after 10pm. The field is slopping in some areas, but nothing major. We were unfortunate enough to visit at the same time as a large family, with rude children, but the way some people raise their children isn't the fault of the site, who were lovely.

Unpowered grass tent site (no pets)

Liked: We stayed here for one night as it was the first time taking our daughter camping, but I wish we could have stayed the whole weekend we all really enjoyed it! We loved the animals that rome around which are all very friendly and no bother at all, the fish pond and it being literally a foot step away to the wyre forest for a walk was just amazing. And to top if off we got given fresh eggs in the morning and an offer to ride the horse We will 100% be returning here Easy to book, easy to locate, easy to get in contact with just an all around great stay and my daughter is now in love with camping!

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

Lucky Lucy again, for she (and her guests) can walk to the Wyre Forest visitor centre in 10 minutes to hit the woodland trails on foot or mountain bikes, or get up into the treetops at the Go Ape adventure park. Heading out on horseback is an option too, with a riding centre five minutes away by car. If the farm life has caught the kids’ imagination (or yours – no one says you have to grow out of chuckling at cute animals), head for Little Owl Farm Park, 20 minutes' drive away. Bigger beasts can be found roaming the plains at West Midland Safari Park (10 minutes). Turn your attentions to how folk lived in the olden days with a trip to see the rock houses at Kinver Edge (20 minutes), where there’s also a maize maze to lose the kids in, followed by a heritage ride on the Severn Valley Railway (10 minutes). Swing home via Bewdley (five minutes) to take in the museum and (for those of a certain age) sup a pint at the brewery tap room.
