What customers say

Great spot for a quiet break with awesome views, a stone's throw from Ironbridge. Bloke running it's a legend, loos are spotless, and the sites are huge and flat. Free Wi-Fi and fire pits are a bonus. A few whinges about noise or the bumpy drive in, but overall, ripper. People wanna come back.

Pea camping pod

Liked The location, lovely walk into Ironbridge, bit harder on the way back up hill but loved it any how.
The pea pod was clean and cosy. Nice to have sheet and matress on beds.
The toilets and showers were immaculate.

Disliked Packing up to come home 🙁

Power optional grass tent site

Liked The owners were so incredibly friendly. The site was spotlessly clean. The female showers were the best shower I've had camping so far! Quiet area, surrounded by fields of sheep. Loads of places to explore, cycle trails, gorgeous little villages and iron bridge museums.

Disliked The gravel hill on entry was pretty scary in my little car. There's very little grip on the road surface, and I have no experience of driving on that sort of surface so once we parked up I didn't use the car at all in case I couldn't get back up again! Luckily we could walk or cycle everywhere we wanted to go.

Pea camping pod

Liked Lovely location and spacious pod with good facilities in the pod including electric cool box. Handy freezer shed.

Disliked Pod right next to car park so disturbed by car door slamming from early in the morning until late at night. Matresses and cool box need replacing. Owners clearly irritated that I had not booked directly with them.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked The space around the tents and the space for children to run around was great.

The park is small but more than enough for my young 2 kids.

There was plenty of space in the freezer room to use and we enjoyed this little perk.

This place is still a good walk from iron bridge and when raining it was difficult, but we still loved the location.

Make sure if you want to buy some firewood and a fire bin that you remember to take marshmallows and some sticks. My kids loved it and we will be back again.

Disliked The washing up area had 2 sinks but only 1 draining board. So really only 1 person at a time could use it.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Beautiful spot on the Shropshire countryside. Simple site with all essentials like showers, toilets and electric. Small play area for children. Great location for Ironbridge and surrounding area. Owners really helpful providing bottled water when burst pipe further down the valley disrupted supplies and posted regular updates at the site

Local attractions

It's a slight porkie to state with firm authority that the Industrial Revolution started exactly at Ironbridge Gorge on one particular day, for of course as your teachers will have told you, it was a gradual process happening all over the shop over a longer period of time. That said, the 10 museums of the Ironbridge site are the definitive Industrial Revolution attraction in the land, visited tirelessly by over half a million people every year. Five of the 10 museums are within a mile of Irongorge Camping, including award-winning Enginuity which should spark the kids' interest right up with its interactive exhibits and hands-on activities; get them to try pulling a locomotive by hand or test their speedy reactions against the Enginuity lighting-fast robot. About 10 minutes' drive from Irongorge Camping will see you back in time at Blists Hill Victorian Town, another Ironbridge Gorge museum and an award-winning ingenuity where visitors can experience life as it was in Victorian times including Victorian shops, cottages and schools. If the kids play up, tell them about Victorian child labour and chimney climbing too... Elsewhere in the area, Irongorge Camping has views over Wrekin Hill with easy access to it for those who fancy a walk, climb or a slack sit at the summit with a picnic, a beer and a book.
