Power optional concrete slab caravan site

Liked: The site is in an excellent location for exploring the Welsh border. Our hardstanding pitch was perfectly level and the pitches are screened from each other. Each pitch has a tap too. Toilet and shower facilities were clean. Lovely fishing lakes to walk around. Just a 5 minute walk to the Halfway Diner on the main road, which is open from 8am - 8pm. Close to National Trust properties. Powis Castle and Attingham Park both worth a visit.

Disliked: Nil

Power optional concrete slab caravan site

Liked: The site and pitches were beautiful the surroundings are really nice with lovely walks and very peaceful

Disliked: The toilet facilities were dirty, loads of grass in showers and toilets looked like it needed deep clean more often. Broken toilet seats in mens and ladies struggle to get toilet paper out of dispenser in ladies. Only one toilet working in mens toilet brushes would a good thing too definitely needs cleaning more often

Power optional concrete slab caravan site

Liked: Electric, water and gray waste all on a flat pitch, fishing lakes on site

Disliked: Originally given Pitch 10, which faces the toilet block and the chemical toilet disposal or if face out, directly into the window of the caravan opposite! I complained and provided a different pitch. Fishing cost on top of pitch fees. Site was a bit run down, gate posts broken on the entry, grass over running the paths, pitch separating hedges need some more growth.

Local attractions

Leave the car behind and take the bus just outside Wigmore Lakes for a history-hunting day in Shrewsbury, taking care to stroll down as many shuts (medieval streets) as possible. If you're around in August, the esteemed Shrewsbury Flower Show is one of the biggest flora-based fests in England. Also have a wander around Welshpool (Wigmore Lakes is between it and Shrewsbury) and take a trip to Ironbridge for several award-winning museums based around the Industrial Revolution. For proper wanders, a network of footpaths is close to the site, including the Offa's Dyke Path, skirting by both Shrewsbury and Welshpool on its 177-mile run from Chepstow to Prestatyn.
