  • Well-maintained site between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, off the A5
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wroxeter
  • Pool table, dog walk, showers, toilets and launderette
You’ll be tickled pink with a stay at Cranberry Moss Caravan Park, a sweet site in rural Shropshire. First up, it's surrounded by the peaceful county betwixt England and Wales that’s long been a bolthole for those seeking quiet rural times: even the invading Romans escaped here in between all that empire building… Next up, this is a well placed site for getting out and about among Shropshire’s activities and attractions – of which there are many, for the county’s gentle pace doesn’t mean a lack of stuff to do. Far from it: from Cranberry Moss you can roll along to world-famed attractions like Ironbridge Gorge, the Saxon – and Tudor – country town of Shrewsbury, and hikes or gentle strolls aplenty among the Long Mynd, Stretton Hills and the Wrekin, all part of the Shropshire Hills of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All this is most easily accessed, as the site is just off the A5 in a handy spot between Oswestry (15 minutes’ drive) and Shrewsbury (20 minutes). For times when you’re not out roaming, there’s a pool table and a dog walk area where canines can stretch their paws. Everyday needs are easily sorted here too, as the amenities include showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette – these last two with spectacular Shropshire views to make your tasks less tiresome.

What customers say

Spick and span site, mate, with top blokes running it! Toilets and showers are spotless, some even have tunes. Pits are generally decent. Good spot for a yarn. Could do with a small shop or playground, and better Wi-Fi. Solid recommendation for a cruisy break.

Liked Super friendly and welcoming wardens. Secure and immaculate site. Quiet, not over filled and spacious pitches. Easy to book and find. Nice calm area with woodlands.

Disliked Not super accessible to shops ( all a bit out of the way) . I only saw one water unit so another one could of been handy. Other then that no complaints at all.

Liked What a lovely park, managers Ashley and Matt were excellent hosts. They couldn’t do enough for us. Park itself was very well maintained. Clean and tidy. Nice touch with the Radio playing in the ablutions block!

Disliked Can’t honestly say it’s a dislike but we were there on a scorching hot weekend and could have made use of a communal freezer/fridge. On any other British summer weekend we would probably never have given it a thought !!

Liked We booked on a hard ground pitch for the caravan. The people here are really friendly and can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. The toilets and showers are clean, and so is the wash up room. Even though it is close to the A5, it was a really peaceful stay, with no traffic noise. We will definitely be coming here again.

Disliked Nothing to not like.

Liked Our first time to Cranberry Moss and Oswestry. The whole site is very clean and very well maintained. You can tell from the moment you arrive that the owners/ wardens take great care of this campsite. The grounds are very well looked after and the flowers dotted around the site are gorgeous. We stayed for 2 nights in Mid-July during Britain’s 3rd heatwave for 2025. Everyone that we spoke to on the site, including the staff, were pleasant and friendly. We loved it so much so; that after just the first night we phoned our other family members and booked again for later on in the summer.

Disliked There wasn’t anything we disliked. If we had to mention a suggestion; we would say that a small play area or obstacle course for children may be a nice addition and possibly a small shop for milk and bread etc.

Local attractions

Shropshire’s absolutely stacked with things to do – outdoorsy activities, museums, castles, arty attractions, theatres, shops… If you’re blinded by choice or need a bit of inspiration, who better to ask than the folk on site, local experts who’ll happily dole out a bit of advice. Among the top picks they might point you towards are the splendid estates of Attingham Park (20 minutes’ drive), a National Trust property where you can paddle canoes or frolic in the Field of Play, and Weston Park (40 minutes), to stroll through gardens designed by the famed Capability Brown. Those Roman visitors left a bit of stuff behind when they moved on, and you can see their style on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City (20 minutes). This area was central to more recent history too – notably at Ironbridge (35 minutes), birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fab museums and family-friendly attractions. If you’re in the company of kids (or indeed grownups) fascinated by all things that move, pack them into the car for the 40-minute drive to see the planes at the Royal Air Force Museum or to take a steam-driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth.
