Meadow unpowered grass tent site

Liked: We've been here every summer for the last 4 years. As a group of 4 adults and 3 children, we love it. The kids love taking our kayaks on the lake & riding the quads, the men love the fishing, we love how chilled it is. Facilities are basic but clean, shower is warm... all you need when camping really 🤷🏻‍♀️ We've not tried it, but the wild camping in the woods looks fab. Chris, who runs it, is very friendly and chilled out, he's a good laugh! We really enjoy it!

Disliked: There is no toilet roll in the loos...& I forget to take some with me every time 🫣😆

Lakeside unpowered grass tent site (medium)

Liked: Large site with 3 pools, basic toilets, lots of woodland. People were friendly or run the place.

Disliked: We arrived to fish for the first time so booked a pitch next to the lake, specifically to fish with my son. The website stated we could hire fishing equipment, but on arrival, there was no equipment left and what they had was broken, very disappointed. The site got very busy, other campers within 5 meters of us all around and there was an awful smell, not sure where from either the lake or toilets. We came home the same day.

Disliked: Site was run down. Rude staff. Left and went somewhere else as a result. Don't go there

From the manager: You were on site of all of about 5 minutes (arguably no where enough time to establish the site was “run down”) I politely asked you to move your tent (whilst it was still in its bag) all of about 10meters as we needed the pitch you chose the following day (it was an EHU pitch for which I apologised for the minor inconvenience. You apparently then packed up your car and left. Your comment regarding the site and the staff contradicts many of our brilliant reviews. So…….i dunno???? 🤷‍♂️

Unpowered forest floor tent site (wild, woodland, small)

Liked: We recently stayed at the woodland camping site at Church Stretton Camp, and it was an incredible experience! As a young couple in our 30s, we were looking for a peaceful getaway, and this place truly delivered. The service was fantastic, and the facilities exceeded our expectations—everything from the showers to the toilets was spotlessly clean. We managed to find a fantastic camping spot overlooking the lake, tucked away in the woodlands right by the horses. The setting was absolutely beautiful and made for a serene and scenic stay. One of the highlights was being able to buy wood on-site for £7.50, which allowed us to create a cosy campfire—a perfect touch to our evening. After a comfortable night, we set off the next day to explore the Lightspout Waterfall walk, which was a lovely addition to our camping experience. The trail was picturesque, and it was great to be able to enjoy such beautiful scenery nearby. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better night away. The combination of great service, immaculate facilities, and stunning surroundings made our stay memorable. We would 100% recommend woodland camping at Church Stretton Camp to anyone looking for a relaxing escape in nature. We’ll definitely be back!

Meadow unpowered grass tent site

Liked: Lovely location and beautiful surroundings, stayed in the meadow which is huge so had loads of space and no one near to us, staff were really friendly and helpful. Facilities clean, pitches pretty level and ground even.

Disliked: There wasn't toilet paper provided which is does state and we were equipped for but just feel like it's a basic thing and would have been better if they had it. Grass could have been a bit shorter if being picky.

Meadow unpowered grass tent site

Liked: Plenty of open space. The kids loved the little play park, the woods, the lakes, the streams, all the places to explore, and the hundreds of blackberry bushes they could pick from. The site was so peaceful, all of the campers respected the rules around noise at night, and everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. The basket of wood for £7.50 lasted us two nights and it was lovely to be able to have an open fire in the evenings. We stayed two nights and will definitely go back again.

Disliked: No dislikes at all. I gave five stars for the wifi because there wasn't any that I could see, and that's exactly what I wanted!

Unpowered forest floor tent site (medium)

Liked: We had an amazing weekend camping in the forest! The site offered plenty of privacy, and we were able to choose our own spot for the tent, which was great. Many of the campers, including us, had campfires and grilled both days, making for a cozy atmosphere. The nearby lake was perfect for swimming and fishing. Although we could hear the laughter and voices of other campers from a distance, our tent was set up further away, so we were surrounded by nature and enjoyed a peaceful stay. It was truly a fantastic experience.
