Your Cotswold Adventure - the main campsite

Pitch 2 - grass area being reseeded.

  • Rural site with views of hills in the Cotswolds National Landscape
  • Burford and Blenheim Palace within 20 minutes' drive
  • Walk to Shipton-under-Wychwood along a footpath
These are some pretty pitches indeed – the main area at Your Cotswold Adventure is tucked away in a grass field surrounded by mature plum trees and hedgerows, while the farm walk and wild area have gorgeous views of the surrounding hills and the Evenlode River valley. It’s all located within the Cotswolds National Landscape. It’s the sort of rural setting that may well make you think you’re miles away from any sort of useful amenities, but in fact it’s a mere mile from Ascott-under-Wychwood and under two miles from Shipton-under-Wychwood, which combined have four pubs, shops and cafés. There are several excellent bakeries and farm shops scattered around nearby too (including the famed Diddly Squat farm shop 10 minutes' drive away), so you’ll not be short of treats – perhaps to take back to the lovely little secluded picnic spot mown into a field just next to the pitches). Foodie needs sorted, it’s time to think about ways to fill your days around here – perhaps walks on trails like the Oxfordshire Way and Wychwood Way, outings to popular Cotswold towns such as Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Norton or family days at the likes of the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Cotswold Farm Park. There are several bus services and local train stations linking local villages for those who’d like to travel around by public transport.

What customers say

Small, quiet spot loved for its spotless modern facilities, esp. showers. Hosts are super friendly & helpful. Beautiful rural views, great walks, close to villages & pubs. A few found loos a bit tight at busy times, no soap in them. Highly recommended, many want to come back.

Power optional concrete and grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked We had such a lovely time at this campsite! From the moment we booked, the host was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, even sending a helpful email with local attractions and recommendations before our arrival, which we really appreciated.

The pitches were a great size, offering plenty of space and privacy. The whole site was peaceful and quiet, perfect for a relaxing break. The facilities were spotless, the toilets and showers were exceptionally clean, which made a big difference to our stay.

It's also in a fantastic location, close to several charming villages and with a lovely walk nearby for anyone who enjoys getting out in nature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommended!

Unpowered grass tent site (no pets, wild, secluded)

Liked The hosts were so lovely and kind people and very responsive by email. There are maps with walking paths near by as well. And it is beautiful star gazing.

Local attractions

If you’re here to soak up as much rural scenery as possible there are lots of ways to do that, including some gorgeous walking/cycling trails through the hills and stops at spots like the Rollright Stones (20 minutes’ drive) and Broadway Tower (35 minutes). Wychwood Wild Garden (five minutes) and Batsford Arboretum (half an hour) are top picks for nearby garden visits. The towns and villages around here are just as pretty as the landscape, of course, so it’s worth planning trips to the likes of Burford (10 minutes), Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) and Stow-on-the-Wold (20 minutes). Fabulous architecture and outdoor spaces are also on hand in places like Cornbury Park (five minutes) and Blenheim Palace (20 minutes). For family days out, you can join all sorts of events at FarmEd (five minutes), meet exotic beasts at Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens (15 minutes) and Crocodiles of the World (15 minutes) or hang out with cute farmyard animals at Cotswold Farm Park (half an hour).
