  • Countryside setting overlooking open farmland
  • Close to Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards and Mablethorpe
  • Animals including chickens and Icelandic horses
Small but perfectly formed: family-run and family-friendly Simon Field Farm may be a teeny site, but you and the kids will find quite a bit to see and do here – and the seaside resorts of Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards, Anderby Creek, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe are all close by. (Want to leave the car behind? The farm is close to bus stops served by the 59 service between Skegness and Mablethorpe.) Simon Field is set where the countryside meets the coastline, two and a half miles from the sea and at the edge of its local village. Littlies can meet the ponies and help out with collecting eggs from the free-range hens, while all sizes should enjoy hanging out in the wifi area on the grassy terrace. The site also has a small area with a Wendy house and slides for toddlers. There is space for guests to bring their own games for older children. Note, also, that as a small site, there is no facility for disposing of tents, awnings or any other bulky camping items. To help decide what to do when exploring off site, there's an info area with extensive material on the local area as well as bus timetables, taxis and takeaway menus. For eats, both the nearby Red Lion at Mumby and Poppas Bar in Anderby serve good food and drinks.

What customers say

Great campsite with super friendly owners, Barry & Anita! Clean facilities & spacious pitches. Horses/chickens are a hit with kids. Good for beaches, but toilets basic. Some found play area/shop ads a bit off.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely, quiet site with friendly and helpful staff who live on site and are happy to give information and local knowledge. The facilities were clean. I will plan to return.

Disliked Not a dislike but a concern on arrival. There is just one shower, two loos and one washbasin in the ladies and I wondered whether that would cause queues in the morning. In fact it was fine with very little time spent waiting.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely little site. The owners Barry and Anita were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand tissues. The horses and chickens were cute.

Disliked As a group we only used the ladies. There was 1 shower, I sink and 2 toilets which wasn't really enough when site was busy so although well maintained could do with more. Also a hook for a towel by the sink would be helpful

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Nice quiet pitch, bit of road noise but nothing drastic. Nice to see the horses and chickens. Pitch was a good size and electric available. Shower was warm and decent pressure.

Disliked Shower/toilet block is basic which is fine but could do with being wiped down and cobwebs removed.

Liked Hello. We enjoyed visiting this campsite with our family. It offered the usual amenities, plenty of space. Nearby, you can watch horses grazing. The location is just a five‑minute drive from the seashore in a peaceful, wildlife‑rich area. Everything was wonderful! Thank you!

Liked Liked the quiet surroundings

Disliked The uneven ground was an ankle twister. Toilet/shower block covered in cobwebs. Booked due to advertising children can feed animals & collect eggs though this never happened!

Local attractions

Many options are all around the area for all ages and inclinations alongside the Lincolnshire beaches. You could try wildlife spotting at the Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marsh of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust or go and see the seals at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary; tee off at the 18-hole golf course near Sandilands, or loop around the theme park Fantasy Island at Ingoldmells… Fast types could watch other fast types at the stockcar circuit of Skegness Stadium or the motor racing rounds of Cadwell Park, while those who prefer an easier amble around have several market towns and markets to investigate at the likes of Louth, Mablethorpe and Alford. Or you could combine handing over money with racing with a trip to Market Rasen Racecourse. And if you're heading to Huttoft for the Axe and Cleaver and to see Farmer Brown's Ice Cream Parlour for yourself, take a bit of time too to visit the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary, home of several rescued beasts and with free admission.
