Touring field at broadmeadow

  • Peaceful waterside touring site at Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire
  • Symonds Yat 15 minutes’ drive and Tintern Abbey 35 minutes
  • Dog-friendly grass pitches with electric hook-ups; two lakes on site
A stay at Herefordshire’s peaceful and oh-so-prettily landscaped Broadmeadow Caravan Park puts you in pole position for explorations of the neighbouring counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Monmouthshire – on both sides of the English-Welsh border. Tucked into a quiet lakeside corner of the lively market town of Ross-on-Wye, the touring site has spacious and level grass pitches equipped with electric hook-ups. Handily positioned water taps and waste-disposal points ensure convenience throughout your stay, along with two well-appointed toilet and shower blocks with wheelchair-accessible and family facilities. Please note that during quieter periods, one block may be closed. You can stroll the extensive grounds around the two on-site lakes, and anyone with an interest in fishing may well take up lakeside residence free of charge for the duration of their stay. Sporting facilities in Ross include an indoor swimming pool and gym (good rainy-day ideas), a putting green and tennis courts. Within a radius of about 20 minutes’ drive, you can also play golf, go pony trekking, canoeing, fishing, cycling or mountain biking, see a film, have a flutter on the horses and take river cruises along the Wye.

What customers say

Great spot, quiet & clean with friendly staff and spacious pitches. Easy walk to town but approach via industrial estate is a bit average. Toilets/showers spotless. Some noise from road, a few guests preferred adults-only.

Liked Nicely kept site with clean toilets & showers. Small field with 2 small lakes also nicely kept. Seeing the various ducks at the lakeside.

Disliked Lead up to site - through industrial park.
We were sited at the far end of the park which resulted in being close to the A40 and the noisy traffic (a bit like staying on a main road)- more noticeable later on during the day/evening.
Please be aware if you have a drive-away awning and if you don't attach it to your vehicle then 'it is a tent' according to the site manager. You are allowed to drive away from your drive-away awning and leave it standing on its own though but then it is not considered as a tent!
The site states 'no tents' but I read this as meaning don't turn up just with a tent and no van/caravan.
These are my opinions and others will most likely disagree with me.

Liked Great level pitch. Exceptional shower blocks. 10 minute walk into the town centre. One of the nicest sites we have visited. The staff were so nice, and so helpful. We will definitely go back again.

Disliked Other reviews have mentioned having to go through the industrial estate to get there. Yes, you do have to. it takes about 5 minutes on foot, or 2 minutes when driving. It's not worth worrying about.

Liked Flat spacious pitches, clean facilities, efficient check in.

Disliked Long walk into town if elderly and pitch is at the far end of field. Charges for our dog and visitors parking we thought were a little overpriced (not so bad if visitors staying all day but if only for an hour or so then a bit much ).
