  • Cosy tipi on a peaceful working dairy farm crossed by the River Wye
  • Over a mile of riverside and river beach for fishing and canoeing
  • Outdoor cinema for watching films under the stars
For a serene stay in the splendid Wye Valley soundtracked by chattering rooks, the distant hum of the milking parlour and cows mooing in the fields beyond, wind your way over to White House On Wye Glamping. The River Wye winds its way through the farm, giving guests more than a mile of riverside and river beach to explore and relax beside. You can fish, canoe, walk or set up a barbecue on the riverside beach, and there’s also plenty to do in the lands that surround: including four golf courses, several National Trust properties, cycling and walking trails and wanders through ancient forests and caves. The owners have also installed a movie projector in each unit, so guests can watch their films during on-site evening downtime. All the glamping accommodation at the site comes with a guest kitchen, heating, gas and electricity included, as well as outdoor furniture. Other benefits of staying here include access to a kids' area, a barbecue and firepit, canoe or paddleboard hire, foraging and farm tours, pizza oven hire, fishing, yoga and massages. For procuring all your picnic supplies and barbecue bits, Ross-on-Wye is a handy short drive away (five miles), and Hereford a little further (10 miles).

Local attractions

You can go canoeing on the River Wye from right near the site, and four golf courses are within a short drive; the local lakes are plentiful around here, and also provide plenty of fishing opps for keen-as-a-bean anglers. For pedallers and walkers, several trails begin right near the site; if you’re feeling ambitious, bike along the River Wye right from the site all the way to Hereford, 11 miles away, to join the circular Wye Valley Walk route and continue on to Ross-on-Wye or in the other direction to Hay-on-Wye. The 20-mile circular Hereford Cider Route is popular for bike rides around here too, taking cyclists past centuries-old apple orchards that now produce more than half of the UK's cider; begin your tour at the train station in Ledbury to pedal past farms such as Scrumpy House and Lyne Down for a wheely fab day out. There are plenty of splendid heritage spots around here too for a pleasantly cultured day out; visit National Trust-owned Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate and Croft Castle, all within around 30 miles, or take a trip to see the 11th-century cathedral over in Hereford. The Forest of Dean is another fabulous day out, and while you’re over that way the twisted trees of the ancient woodland at Puzzlewood and the former iron mines of Clearwell Caves are well worth stopping off at for a potter around.
