  • Peaceful dog-friendly site along the Severn Way on the river Severn
  • A 20-minute drive to the Cotswolds Way; 30 minutes to Gloucester Docks
  • Part of a pub serving food and drinks; picnic benches; barbecues okay
Get away to The Old Passage Inn on the banks of the river Severn for a properly peaceful stay… this site is along the Severn Way, a 215-mile route which goes down to the Severn Beach, and just 20 minutes’ drive away from the Cotswold Way on the outskirts of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (where characterful villages are in plenty). At this site, you’ll be plotting down in the grounds of a country pub serving locally-sourced food, so you won’t have to look far for a cool drink and a good, filling meal either. There’s plenty of space on the grounds to unwind, including picnic benches and the grassy pitches themselves. Plus, its location just outside of Arlingham and close to the river means that birds often frequent the site, creating a nice situation for birdwatching fans. Water and toilet facilities are available on the site free of charge, as is car parking. Handily, the place is a dog-friendly establishment too, so well-behaved canines on leads are welcome to tag along. Barbecues are allowed on the site, so you may want to call into a food shop on your way in. The closest is 15 minutes’ drive away, but there are also farm shops selling local produce closer by.
