  • Family-run pub site between Worcestershire and Herefordshire
  • Tewkesbury and Upton-upon-Severn both within five miles
  • Locally produced food served Tuesday to Saturday; carvery on Sunday
Once you’re all pitched up, you can head straight in for a pint or a wine – this park is rather handily tagged onto a cosy pub. The Hunters Inn, on the edge of Longdon village, is a handy four miles from the historic town of Tewkesbury around half an hour’s drive from Cheltenham, and also within easy reach of several of the area’s most famed historic attractions, including Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral and Hartlebury Castle. The Malvern Hills are also a cinch to get to for walks and big bike rides, and the water meadow at Severn Ham, just outside Tewkesbury, is smashing for a bit of wildlife spotting and birdwatching. When you’re done with days of Worcestershire sightseeing, return back to base for a barbecue. However, if you’d rather have someone else do the cooking, then the pub serves some pretty great locally sourced food instead. There’s a nice sprinkling of entertainment here too: if you’re there for the pub’s monthly quiz, you can exercise some brain cells for a crack at winning the Hunters’ pub quiz crown.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked We enjoyed two nights at the Hunters Inn site. It was a beautifully quiet site and the staff could not have been more helpful. Our pitch was a gravel and fairly level pitches with electric hookup and chemical toilet disposal. The food in the pub was excellent. The shower block that has been commented on by others is still clean and entirely functional. Their new facilities are nearly completed and will enhance this site.

Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to review your stay, we are so glad to hear you found our team helpful and that you enjoyed your meal in our pub, we are very excited to be close to completing our new shower block and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Quiet location loved to hear the birdsong

Disliked Only 2 of us on the site and the owners placed the second arrival next door.
They were apologetic doing what they were placed.
The new facilities are coming along but work is at at painstaking pace.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Gravel pitch and water close by.
Pub , with food.
Facilities (unable to say how good, didn't use them).

Disliked Not as secure as it could be.
Noisy voices in car park just after midnight.
Had to pay for electric (metered) even though pitch was £30 per night and ate in pub which cost £60. At least could have offered discount for eating in pub.
Large German shepherd at top of site is intimidating when walking dog around.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. im sorry you didnt feel the site was secure.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Decent hard standing pitch.
Staff were extremely friendly.
We didn’t use the facilities so can’t comment on the toilets/showers

Disliked We were close to the beer garden which was quite noisy so would potentially be even noisier in the Summer. Didn’t bother us but may not be ideal for other campers.
Paying extra for electricity - only because you never know when it’s going to run out.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. With regard to your electricity, It is metered so you can check how much you have either used or have left.

Local attractions

Over in Tewkesbury, begin with an amble alongside the River Severn or opt for a boat trip along the Avon; then head to the town’s most famed landmark, the 900-year-old Tewkesbury Abbey, and have yourself a heritage wander around its walking trails. The Pepperpot in Upton is also a topping option as a historic highlight, as are Hartlebury Castle and the cathedrals at Worcester and Gloucester, all within easy driving distance. The area plays host to lots of festivals and events throughout the year too; if you’re in the area in July, make sure you check out Tewkesbury’s famed Medieval Festival, where thousands from all over get together for Europe’s biggest annual medieval reenactment: let the merriment commence and the mead flow forth. Elsewhere, this top Worcestershire spot is a most handy locale for outdoorsy and active adventures: there’s a golf course in Tewkesbury and several horse riding schools are in the area too, plus walking and cycling are popular around the Malvern Hills National Landscape, a short drive away. Severn Ham is also a splendid place for a walk and a bit of wildlife watching: be sure to take a pair of binoculars or even just your camera phone, because you’ll likely want to snap all the critters and birdlife you’ll find around this wild water meadow.
