What customers say
Top spot, clean & tidy with a great pool, spa & restaurant. Staff are legends, pitches are roomy, and you’re right on the forest trails – perfect for families & doggos. A few grumbles about pricey activities & patchy reception, plus a bit of noise & some toilets needing a spruce.

Disliked No communication on arrival. Had to find everything ourselves. Took ages to find our booking. No apology. Terrible communication before we went. Site had a powercut so didn't get to swim even though power back on before the end of the session. Advertised Sunday roast but staff said they don't do it. Staff had a "it's all too much attitude". grass pitches were waterlogged but unable to move even though lots of empty hardstandings. Other guests just upsticks and moved. Wifi was rubbish and kept cutting out.

Hi – thank you for your feedback.
As mentioned by our Reservations Manager, Pitch Up does not allow for two separate bookings (one for a pod and one for a pitch) to be linked or requested to be in the same area. However, Lauren personally handled your request and rearranged multiple bookings to ensure your pitch was located in the Meadow, close to your glamping pod.
We’re sorry to hear you felt there was no explanation of the park. Our check-in team provides a brief overview of the site and directions to your pitch upon arrival. Additionally, we supply all guests with a comprehensive welcome pack containing all the necessary information for their stay. Much of this information is also available on our website and in our “Good to Know” guide, which is emailed to you prior to arrival.
Regarding the power outage, there was a village-wide cut, and the National Grid advised an estimated restoration time of 9pm. This was the only information available to us at the time via their website. Unfortunately, we are not provided with exact timings, so we rely on their guidance. Thankfully, the power was restored quickly and efficiently, which was appreciated by both guests and staff.
We were fully booked over the weekend, but unfortunately, some guests choose not to travel to the site without informing us, which is frustrating. Others may arrive a day later, so while pitches may appear vacant, they are in fact booked.
We’re sorry that you were disappointed with the staff and your overall experience at Whitemead. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving our service.
over priced, under delivered. Wont be back
Mega camping pod (pet friendly)
Liked Not a lot. Had high hopes but felt truly let down
Disliked Very disappointing from the start. Our requests were ignored. Communication was poor the whole time. Couldn't find our 2nd booking for at least 10 mins on arrival. No explanation about park, we had to find everything ourselves. Asked by email about Sunday roast, was advised turn up and order. Arrived for Sunday lunch & told they don't do it even though its advertised on the website. No information about swimming apart from times. Luckily we didn't need money for a locker. Arrived for adult only session but after 15mins there was a powercut. Told power wont be back on until 9pm so dressed in dark and went back to van. Then the power came on within 15 mins. So didn't get to use the pool. Staff had a can't be bothered attitude. Friends asked if they could move from a gopping wet grass site, told full all weekend. However, there were available hard standings. Other campers just unpegged their tents and moved to spare sites. Our friend went home early as ground too wet.

Liked Big pitches
Disliked Not as dog friendly as I first thought. Dogs could not go into the entertainment area or restaurant. There is a dog friendly cafe but limited menu and closes as 5pm so need to go off site in evenings if you do have a dog.

Liked Grounds very well kept, pitches a decent size but could have been more space / privacy between them. Facilities good. Good walks in the forest.
Disliked Could not take dogs in the venue to have a drink or eat, had to sit outside on terrace ( which in the rain was under cover but was so slippery due to the surface) just allocate a section inside in one of the corners!!! Afterall why advise as dog friendly when your not.

Mega camping pod (pet friendly)
Liked We had a wonderful stay at Whitemead. Lovely clean facilities, friendly staff and lots to do for children of all ages.
The bar has a good selection of food and drinks and was reasonably priced. Everything we ate was delicious. The children especially enjoyed the waffles from the hut.
It was our puppy's first forest walk, which she thoroughly enjoyed, as did we all.
